We were doing a live webcast for a large conference here in SF and Joe ran two crews in two separate rooms without blinking. I have bought 6 videos from them and each one has been worse than the last. The videos, taken over the course of 3 years, all have the same dirt spots on the camera lens, with more spots each time, for he never bothers to clean it. Some of the spots are burnt out pixels, the same ones seen since 2008. He uses an old camera that goes all to pixels whenever anyone moves or the lighting is low. These videos waver drunkenly in and out of focus, and sometimes the picture is lost in pixels or fuzz. Several times the soundtrack has been a mess too. Cinemagic Studios won't put even one chapter in an over hour long video. The director of the event even diplomatically talked to him about the declining quality of the DVDs, and he was dismissive of her concerns. Apparently it isn't profitable enough for him to do a better job on these videos. I am required, if I want a keepsakes of the videoed events, to purchase videos from Cinemagic Studios. I do want a keepsake, but I cannot support this unprofessional hack who does such a shoddy job. I will never purchase another video from Cinemagic Studios again, because the quality of work is so poor and careless. I get very frustrated when I watch the videos, which is not how I want to feel about a keepsake. If Yelp offered no stars was an option, I would give that to Cinemagic Studios. If you care at all about your videos DO NOT HIRE CINEMAGIC STUDIOS. He will do a completely crappy job of photography with his grimy camera and then be rude to his customers when his DVD is of extremely poor quality and they dare to complain. Don't bother to contact him if the video is crappy, because if he gets the chance, he will pull some passive aggressive nonsense like sending out the next video really late or screw it up in some other way and leave the customer feeling ripped off, frustrated, and abused. Purchased a video of my kids dance production that cost me $30. My kids spent MONTHS preparing for…read morethis showcase and did an amazing job, as did their friends. Our family doesn't live in state so rather than have them all fly in to watch the showcase in person I suggested we pass the DVD along from family member to family member and each could express their joy over the phone. Boy, did that plan backfire! Got the video in the mail today and was so excited to stick it in the player and watch. Not only are there spots on the camera lens (that get larger as the picture zooms in) but the quality is so incredibly poor that you can't make out a single face. At times the camera connection seems to break up a bit and the sound quality is that of an old casset tape. I'm so incredibly disappointed. I've seen productions on film in this same kind of lighting so I know it is possible to achieve a good quality recording. Overall, I'm bummed they wont let parents film because the only memory we are left with after all their hard work is a useless video.
