3.5 Good: 1. The Wagyuworks Cheese was very tasty. It doesn't look that great - it actually looks very ordinary and dry, but it tastes really good! Not good: 1. I ordered the corn soup and they forgot to bring it. Once I finally got it, it wasn't that good - not enough corn. It's not the same as the one at Curry House which I really like. 2. I didn't like my BBQ Beef sushi burger. The flavor is good but the rice bun falls apart and I felt like I was eating a bowl of rice with my hands like an animal. Within two bites, I wished I had a spoon. The BBQ Beef was like one giant strip of meat, so that after the first bite, I couldn't tear it and I kept eating it (it was never ending like a clown's handkerchief). MOS Burger earned an even bigger cult following when they opened their store in Sunnybank, about 20mins (on a good run) south of Brisbane. It became a weekend pilgrimage for their burgery goodness but travel no more for your MOS Burger fix with the opening of their Albert Street Mall store. The space was once home to Krispy Kreme but has found new life offering Japanese burgers to the masses. With a sparkly new fit out (far fancier than the original store) I was surprised there wasn't more of a line when I visited. I'm not going to argue because the lack of line meant I could breeze in and order my fix. One chicken teriyaki burger meal, please. At the moment they are only running their introductory menu. Don't fret, there is still enough variety to choose from but some of your favourites may not yet be available. As always staff were super friendly and sitting down to eat my burger, for a moment if I closed my eyes, I could imagine that I was in Tokyo rather than Brisbane CBD. They're also operating on trial trading hours which look like will be Sat 14 Apr 11am - 2pm and 5pm - 10pm; Sun 15 Apr 11am - 3pm and 16-19 Apr 11am - 8pm. The last time I had MOS Burger was a few years ago when I lived in Japan. I was craving an 'ebi' (shrimp) burger and saw that they had one on the menu. I decided to try it out. I had to wait for just a few minutes before ordering. The cashier was super friendly and noted that I didn't want any sauce with my shrimp burger. The same cashier brought my meal to me with a smile. The shrimp burger was fresh and hot! I liked that and they remembered that I requested no sauce. The chips (fries) are OK. Nothing extraordinary but if you want to have a side with your burger, it will suffice. They aren't salted so you may need to add more yourself or request for salt. I found a table easily and was able to enjoy my meal in peace and quiet. They have a great location and the employees are really nice and thank you on the way out. read more

I like it! It's like a funky Japanese McDonald's. Prices are not too bad - I had a fish burger and a small chips for under $7. Some of the fancier burgers can get up to $8 on their own. Since the opening of the store on Albert Street, it has been a favorite haunt of mine for days when I just want to be fed without having to think. The deco seen in store is the classic MOS burger look you will find wherever you go, and, if you were to head up to the mezzanine, you'll find a tatami area for those of you wanting to experience that authentic Japanese dining experience (well, sort of anyway... You are, after all, eating burgers and not Sashimi). Before Brisbane, I had the luxury of having a MOS outlet at almost every corner in Singapore, and my love for the Beef Yakiniku Rice burger started there. The fare served at its Brisbane CBD branch managed to revive those warm fuzzy memories of days spent in MOS Burger outlets back home, and for the most part, they were awesome. But, alas, after so many visits of pure bliss, this particular visit left me disappointed. Otherwise, I'd have happily given it a higher rating. On this particular visit, my chips were just a little underdone, the beef was way overdone, the rice patties were dry, and the leaves of lettuce were old and wilted. How have I not reviewed this place yet? I love my MOS Burger. It seems Japanese-style fast food does without the grease of American-style. I am okay with this! The run of the mill Cheeseburger is a great introduction to their flavours. The veggie-crocquette burger is a vegetarian DELIGHT. I found it difficult to have the less-sweet-than-coke iced tea with it, as I'm so used to super sweet complimenting my fast food. But once I got used to it I found it superior. read more

Please bring back your other vegetarian options, the burger I had tonight was incredibly disappointing, the vegetable croquette had very little flavour, and was so hot that it has burned the inside of my mouth. The shredded cabbage fell everywhere and was piled on so much that it was very difficult to eat, and lent very little flavour to the burger also. The sauce was far too sweet and the whole burger seemed like very little care and thought was put into it. I ate here with friends and as the vegetarian option is inadequate now we will be choosing to eat elsewhere in the future. read more

Chicken Teriyaki! If I didn't have an irrational fear of getting fat I would seriously be eating here every other day. The restaurant is huge with sitting on both the ground floor and upstairs and it still manages to fill up during the lunch rush. You've got a mixture of city workers, students, white otakus and everything else inbetween congregating over delicious burgers and iced tea, it's brilliant. Very curious. Definitely fast food, and you should calibrate expectations appropriately. I got the ice tea and wagayu burger. Both were tasty, but not subtle. Ice tea was extremely sweetened. Reminded me of McDonald's sweet tea almost. Burger was tasty but had very strong soy sauce flavor that overpowered most of the rest. This place is the best ever, get yourself a mos cheeseburger (or if you wanna live a little a SPICY cheeseburger), FREE SAUCE (Rove McManus would be proud) for your chips which are always crispy, and i dont know what kinda oil they use but its YUMM!!! the Onion/Tomato mix on the burger totally makes it and i find myself using my chips to mop up all the sauce, meals come with the choice of ice tea (or other drinks but really who goes past ice tea?) I have been to a few mos burgers stores in Queensland and sadly my favourite store for customer service and store layout was Booval in Ipswich Australia. This store is still one of my favourites. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly and even say goodbye and thank you for dinning with them as you leave the store. I have found that there is always plenty of sitting area available and your food arrives in a decent amount of time. There is also a little Japanese tradition sitting area where you can take your shoes off and sit down on a soft mat at a table to enjoy your meal which I think is amazing and different, I am still meaning to enjoy the experience for myself. Sadly I have that the tables are not clean regularly enough, I will be looking for a table and a few tables still have people left over food and rubbish on the tables and this is a regular occurrence. read more

This review is for the Albert Street location which I can't seem to find on Yelp, however I just wanted to share my recent experience with MOS Burger which was amazing to say the least. At first I was drawn by the cute menu on the storefront and noticed that all the prices for the food seemed reasonable especially for CBD standards. I tried the Fish Burger with the Chips Combo Meal, keep in mind that you can swap out the iced tea drink for something similar...my choice ended up being the Iced Milk Tea which was perfect! The service was extremely friendly and I picked up my number to wait a table. The food came out quick. Fish Burger was really good, better than I expected. The chips were quite good as well. Also I know this is weird to mention, but I thought having a sink on the ground level to wash your hands afterwards was brilliant! My experience from start to finish was really good here and I was surprised by that (not expecting much at first). MOS Burger is quickly becoming one of my favourite fast food stores now and I will be back shortly to try out some of their other items! read more

No idea what the hype is about. The service is friendly, but that is where it ends. I ordered a beef salad burger, fries and ice tea. The attendant had only passable English and it took a while getting the order right. Then, when I got my order the fries and tea were missing, I had to go back to the till with my receipt to request the full order. The fries were bland and soggy, the burger not much better. The service here is definitely bettee than your standard fast food. I ordered the shrimp burger and it was delicious. Just a bit too much sauce for my liking but I think it'll suit most. Visiting a Mos burger in Brisbane is really no different to the experience you'd have in Tokyo. The food tastes exactly the same and customer service is just as welcoming. Of course, the staff speak English and for some reason, there is always Korean techno pop playing over the speakers. But I have to say, getting a Spicy Mos Burger and a ginger pork rice burger always makes me feel at home. Don't bother getting the fries, just get two burgers, that's all you need. read more
