Creek to explore
MsMrn D.

Friendly staff and delicious ice soft serve! Kids tried megalodon soft serve challenge and had fun! Clean facility and neat creek at lower area. Lots of parking. Very clean pool, thankful for spring water no chlorine for the hair for-and clean restroom. Nice shady lawn. Would definitely comeback. Cafe service quick and accommodating!

Go early! It was a relaxing time at the Morton's. Plenty of picnic tables with shaded areas.

Well, I finally took the plunge (pun intended) and took a visit with my kiddo to Morton's Warm Springs. This is a geothermal spring filtered pool and picnic area off the beaten path around the Glen Ellen area. The drive there is beautiful, farmland, vineyards, 2-lane country roads, the whole shebang, There are 3 pools- 2 for adults and families, and a kids pool for the diaper dependent. The pools could definitely use a facelift. Many tiles missing and it makes the pool look old. I'm from Florida, so I won't swim in water unless it's warm enough to keep the goosebumps away. This water passed the test. Not to hot, not too cold, clean, and despite the warning signs, there was no rotten egg sulfur odor that I could detect. Overall, excluding kids playing, it's relatively calm and quiet. Reservations must be made online and capacity is limited due to COVID. I think my rating would be higher if they would fix up the pool. And although the bathrooms were clean, they were very highway rest stop- like. Unfortunately I was blessed with tricophobia (ah yes- the wonderful fear of loose hairs). Somehow a pube attached to my toe by the pool area, so our visit ended abruptly. Not sure that I would come back again at $50 for 2 ppl. Maybe if there was a no-Pube guarantee

I haven't been here since I was a kid maybe 20 years ago. Apparently they have been closed down for a while and were recently under new ownership and they have the resort up and running again. We went here about a month ago on a weekend with a few friends, and it was exactly how I remembered it from when I went when I was a kid!!! It looks the same, the pools were still nice and warm, the picnic area was great, there's lots of good hiking and river spots too! It's a great place to go and relax and just hang out. We had a great time. I only have two complaints about this place from when we recently went. I had gone online and looked at their website to see prices and when they were open. It said on the weekends they were open from 10 AM to 6 PM and we went there on a Saturday. It also said on the website that they were doing renovations in the kitchen so they wouldn't have any food or drinks for sale. But that it would be done by the end of 2016. So I assumed when we went there that we could just buy our food and drinks. Because it was kind of a last minute trip and we didn't want to bring any lunch or any drink. It would just be convenient for us to eat there. So right when we get there we see that the kitchen is closed and it is still apparently under renovations. So they don't have any type of food or drink at all. So that kind of sucked because we had to go back down into the little town and go to the deli and get sandwiches and drinks and snacks. So that was kind of annoying. Anyways we still had a really good day the weather was great the pools felt great. I think we were in the water all day long LOL. But then 5 o'clock came and they told us we had to get out. When it's set on their website that they were open until 6 PM. We asked them about this and they said that it was only for their people that had memberships I guess? I don't know, It didn't say anything like that on the website. So it was kind of annoying to have to get kind of kicked out I guess, when we were expecting to stay there another full hour. Anyways those are my two complaints about this place. However I will obviously give it another chance because I really loved it there. And they are new back in business so it'll take them a while to work out their kinks I suppose. I plan to come here lots of more times during the summer and I still recommend it to all my friends and family!

The pool in the distance.

Relaxing spot for family on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The place is clean, quintet and not very crowded. The main pool has a great temperature not cold not hot, just right.

Pools and picnic areas. Very nice and well maintained.

Lovely place to spend the day. Enjoyed the warm mineral pools. Clean and family friendly.

Morton's Warm Springs Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Morton's Warm Springs

Are there fragrances used on property? Fragranced hand soap, glade sprays or plug ins, Freebreeze , Diffusers etc?

Our hand soap and shower soap are both lavender from pure essential oils and not strong smelling. There are no sprays or diffusers. The men's urinal screens have a subtle fragrance when we change them out.

Is this a non-smoking property?

Mostly yes, it is a non-smoking property, except for in one designated area in the front parking lot. Thank you!

The location, the staff, the room (King room above the carport), the in-room snacks and robes, the 24/7 pool/hot tub, the beautiful breakfast and afternoon wine. I can't believe it wasn't sold out. If you're in the area, don't hesitate for a second. This place is a 10/10, enjoy!

But first, the good: their accommodations remain fabulous. We stayed in the Upper Poolside Cottage (Room 10) and it's just wonderful. The Comphy sheets are just heaven. Their bath towels are also plush and luxurious. Two thumbs up for in-room linens! Heated floors in the bathroom and 2-sided fireplace provide nice warmth and comfort. Complimentary snacks and fizzy water in the mini fridge are a nice bonus, too. The poolside cottages are the cat's meow, and just a short hop to the pool and hot tub. But there are several things that I noted during our last visit that made me feel like maybe this may have been our last visit to the Olea. First, there was a goodly amount of trash strewn about the property. At the hot tub, there was a wine bottle cap on the bench (I know, wine country, to be expected, right?), but what truly grossed me out was the wad of used athletic wrap right next to the hot tub. Blech! As I grabbed both of these items and took them to the trash (all of five or six steps from where they had been scattered), I noticed even more bits of trash in the corner area near the planters. Like more trash than would be expected by just one party being messy. (Also, the planter area was weedy and just seemed neglected.) I dismissed it as just not getting some needed attention, until I returned to our cottage and noticed several more pieces of trash right by our front door that I had missed earlier. And apparently so did housekeeping and management. Plus broken tree limbs atop the roof of the main building. And a huge rip in one of the pool lounge chair pads. And a very large hole (~3") in a pool towel. Just signs of general neglect and subpar for this place, especially at their price point. Second and perhaps even more disappointing is how much the included breakfast service has changed. It's gone from a 2-course, made-in-house gourmet affair to a continental style DYI breakfast, apparently now even on the weekends. The only thing made to order is the avocado toast (for obvious reasons). For those guests who hadn't enjoyed the previous offerings, perhaps it doesn't seem too bad. Nice spread. But I sorely miss the delectable morning meals and the awesome homemade chai along with the service for breakfast. I'd give this an updated 3.5 stars but will round up to 4 because I still really want to love this place. Also, Star provided friendly and welcoming service at the front desk, which was appreciated.

Our friends hosted their after-party there and we really got to see how big the location is and conveniently walk back to our room at the end of the night! The location couldn't be better--within easy walking distance to tasting rooms, cafes, and even a Michelin-starred restaurant. It's also just a short drive to several wineries and the stunning Jack London State Park. Although we didn't get a chance to use the pool, it looked lovely and peaceful, nestled alongside a river--definitely something we'll look forward to next time. Whose birthday is in March?! Even without staying at the hotel, the day pass was worth every penny. Check-in is seamless, and the locker rooms are fully stocked with easy-to-use lockers, plush robes, slippers, and luxurious bath products. It feels indulgent from the start. The amenities are what truly set this place apart. Outside, you can choose between two large heated pools at different temperatures, plus a hot tub tucked away in the far corner for a quieter soak. Inside, there are two additional hot tubs, a spacious sauna, and a steam room. There are showers with a signature scrub, too. If the weather doesn't cooperate, there are plenty of comfortable indoor lounging areas, including dreamy zero-gravity chairs that make it impossible not to relax. Both visits, we treated ourselves to bottle service, which made the day feel extra special. While I didn't order food, the portions looked generous and the pricing felt fair for a luxury resort experience. The staff is exceptionally well-trained, and a few team members truly went above and beyond both times. We brought cash on our second visit to make sure we could tip appropriately. One thing I will say: if you're looking for a QUIET and ultra-peaceful experience, I would avoid Saturdays. The first time we went (a Sunday), it felt very zen. The second visit was on a Saturday, and there were larger groups celebrating birthdays. Some guests were there to party, and it got loud, specifically at the hot top and indoors. Obviously, that's out of the Fairmont's control, but it's something to keep in mind depending on the vibe you're hoping for. There's honestly no better way to spend a winter day, especially when you can follow it up with a meal at El Molino Central right across the street. Note that parking is validated for a set amount of time (then around $3/hour after), which makes it easy and convenient. I love everything about this place. It's the perfect reset during the colder months, and I can't wait to return.

How about when you first drive up the winding drive, and glimpse the first take of the stunning main building. I arrived at night, so all the ambience from the lighting, the moon, the glimmer off the fountain in the middle of the courtyard. Immediately was struck. Then I walked in to check in at the front desk - and I couldn't have been more welcoming. I had just made the marathon drive from Pasadena, CA, and was just tired, hungry and looking to get to the room and get to dinner. But the warm faces and kind words instantly washed the road away from me (and to be honest, the perfectly chilled glass of local champagne certainly helped that too!). They ensured everything was right with the room and with the stay and so I headed out to pick up the puppy from the car and settle up to the room. And then... there is the story of the puppy. Out of all the hotels and resorts I've stayed in - nothing NOTHING compares to the dog friendly (while still wholly human centric) service at this Fairmont. They made me feel like Chance was as much a guest there as I was. And all that isn't even to mention the concierge, the perfect cocktails from the bartender, the beautiful winding paths that guide you through the campus, the world class spa and massages (note - make SURE you check out the quiet room, nothing like it I've ever seen), the OUTSTANDING breakfast under the trees next to the pool... I just don't have time to list it all here. But the cherry on top - really is the people. They just... they are the magic that infuses everything in the building, everything in the resort, everything in the spa. They were there for me at every turn and at every moment, for every need.
