Wow what a chippie! Recommended to us at the last Yelp event I'm glad we stopped here on our wee north coast tour. The queue was out the door and down the street so there was a wee wait, but you know what? We popped down to the Anglers Arms pub and asked if they minded us eating our chips out in the beer garden. They said this was fine so score! We got our fish and chips and onion rings and it was some of the best stuff I have tasted. If you are in the area I definitely recommend. Crispy tasty batter, fresh fish and yummy white fluffy chips! If you're in the area go there!

You know it's fresh, as its right beside the harbour. Coming straight off the Rathlin ferry we had worked up an appetite and Mortons was our first stop. There was a queue, 'but it's worth it' I was told by another customer. I ordered the scampi special and the kids cod & chips. The batter was light and the scampi fish was fresh and tasty. The kids fish and chips came with a drink and my son devoured the lot. I didn't get pics of food, as I was too hungry and my mouth was watering! Great place for Fish supper in Ballycastle.

Young cod and small chip

I was in Ballycastle for a few hours on the late May Bank Holiday Monday after photographing the Dark Hedges earlier in the afternoon. I looked around for somewhere to eat and saw people queueing for chips at the harbour. I hadn't heard of Morton's before but I was intrigued by their menu, particularly the scallops - must have those in case I never see them in a chippy again! Unfortunately they were out of scallops but I ordered the young cod and a small chip which I ate at a picnic table at the harbour, surrounded by screeching seagulls within yards of my table. Amazingly the segulls didn't attack either me or my food. Apart from the screeching, I had peace to appreciate how good the fish and chips were. The key point which I really must make is that the batter on the fish was much lighter than most chip shop batter that I have encountered in Northern Ireland. Morton's is one of the few places here that know how to do it.

This is my young nephew Nathan. We were just waiting on Morton's to open at 3pm. Worth the wait....

I visited this McDonalds twice during my trip in Northern Ireland, once for a late night snack and…read moreonce for an early breakfast. There are kiosks to order if you do not want to wait in line to order with a cashier. I noticed there were a lot of young adults at this location, and that it was busy during both times I went. Service seems fast despite having a lot of customers inside. What I tried: -Terry's Chocolate Orange Pie is delicious. We don't have that in the United States. The pie is hot and crispy on the outside, and has a semi-sweet chocolate filling, similar to a pudding consistency, with an orange flavor. The overall taste of the pie is light, and not strong or too artificial tasting in either chocolate or orange. -Hamburger: The hamburger is very small and flat compared to the US, but tastes similar, just slightly healthier. -Cheese bites: Also a non-US item. These are tiny mozzarella and emmental balls in a smoky caramelized onion flavored breadcrumb coating. I thought the cheese would be gooey but it was somewhat solid (but warm). It's served with BBQ Dip. -Mini Hash Browns: Got this in the 15 piece instead of the 5 piece. I counted as I ate and there were 13 in there (oh well). I prefer the minis to the flat hash browns (we don't have the mini version in the US). The mini hash browns are crispy and perfect to pop in your mouth. -Sausage & Egg McMuffin: It was okay. The muffin top and bottom are very thin and the sandwich flavor isn't as salty compared to the US. -Breakfast Wrap with Brown Sauce: This is like a McMuffin but in a wrap. I prefer this since it's more filling as it comes with bacon and potato rosti (hashbrown) too. Brown sauce is hard to describe for me. It's not like a BBQ sauce, so it's not smokey or tangy, it's more spiced, sweet, tamarind-y, vinegary, like a cross of ketchup and Worchestshire sauce. The music was blasting at 8 a.m. so that's one way to wake yourself up. I went up to the second floor to eat. There's barstool seating along some windows, as well as grouped sit-down seating. Both the first and second floors were generally clean.

You can say that McDonalds are all the same. I disagree as I have been to some rough ones but this…read moreone, In Belfast, hit the top. Freshly cooked sandwiches in an extremely clean restaurant. Friendly staff. I'll put this one in my top five. Well done guys and gals.

I decided to try Geogia's on Holywood High Street as there's always a queue and I've always wondered if it was actually worth waiting for. First thing I am going to say is the staff are great, there were 3 working when I went in and they seemed to be running a tight ship, each person had their job and they were performing their jobs to perfection. I asked if they took debit card but unfortunately they didn't. The chap working said I could place my order and go to the ATM further up the road and by the time I got back my food would be ready. He wasn't wrong because I came back to the shop just in time to answer the all important question, 'Do you want salt and vinegar?' The food itself was good, although not mind blowing. There's plenty of competition in this area for fish and chips so Georgia's always had a lot to live up to. I got a 'Cod Supper' - I got loads of chips (too many) but the fish portion wasn't huge although it was fried to perfection. The meal was enjoyable and I will definitely be back although I might try something different from their large menu.

I ordered the Cowboy supper( chips, sausages and beans) and my friend ordered a burger (made specially by Georgia herself) and we enjoyed every bite. Absolutely and utterly amazing and what I would confidently say is the best pizza in the world…read more That may sound like a bold claim but I really do think it is up there with the best of the best. This place is amazing to get food after a night out or even to take away for dinner. I always try to ring ahead, they'll tell you it will be five minutes but if you call in about 10-15 after you hang up then you will just walk in and pick up the food straight away. If you go in often enough they'll get to know your order and are the friendlist blokes in the world. They know me by name and it really makes you want to go back over and over. It really, really doesn't get much better. Especially if you get a Funghi Pizza or even a Doner Kebab on Chips. The kebab sauce is amazing.
