Seems like a running trend with this location. I had an extremely frustrating experience at this Niles Dental Care PC office located on 8031 N Milwaukee Ave.Niles IL 60714. I visited once in 2024 for a cleaning and returned this year for another cleaning. Before making my appointment, I specifically confirmed with the office that they were in-network with my insurance, and I was told that they were. After my cleaning, the receptionist, Mariam, informed me that I owed $100 for a deductible. However, things took a turn when she suddenly brought up a bill from 2024 -- something I was hearing about for the first time, nearly two years later. What made this experience even worse was Mariam's attitude. Her customer service was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Instead of calmly explaining the charges, she kept bringing up different amounts (she mentioned $50 then $70 then $100), I supposedly owed and negotiating prices with me as if we were bargaining at a marketplace. I chose not to argue at the front desk and instead explained that I wanted to verify everything with my insurance company first. I asked for the bill to be sent to my home so I could review it properly. Later, I received a bill for $200 ($100 from 2024 and $100 from this year 2026). I called the office to get clarification, hoping for a professional explanation. Instead, Mariam allegedly threatened that if I did not pay, she threatened on a recorded line that she will add more alleged services and made sure for bill to be increased so it could.be sent it to a collection agency. I found this interaction extremely concerning. Being charged $200 for a cleaning when I had specifically confirmed my in-network status beforehand raises serious questions about the billing and how these charges were calculated. Patients deserve clear, accurate billing information and the opportunity to understand and verify charges with their insurance providers without feeling pressured or threatened. My advice to anyone considering this office: verify your coverage and benefits directly with your insurance company, request an itemized bill, and review every charge before paying anything you do not understand. Keep records of all communications and billing statements. A dental office should prioritize patient care, transparency, and professionalism. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling that billing was prioritized over patient satisfaction. The way this situation was handled has completely damaged my trust in this office, and I would not feel comfortable returning. I am not sure if this kind of attitude is associated with one person in this office or the entire team. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves both its billing transparency and customer service.
