Konnerup & Co. is a combined shop and café that offers different types of quality delicacies, in form of chocolate, tea, coffee, wine, licorice, nuts, jam, and other confectionery. As you walk around the shop; you are able to look into the kitchen, where the chocolate is made. Some of the products are also available in special shops around the country. Besides the shopping-part; you can also sit down by a few tables, and enjoy some freshly made coffee, tea or hot chocolate, together with an homemade cream-puff, or a chocolate heart. I tried the hot chocolate, and a cream-puff - at first sight it didn't seem as much, but when you got through the cup of 'real melted rich'-chocolate; you knew it was the perfect amount. Even though the quality was at its' highest; the price was actually low - so please support the shop, and bring something home with you. I don't lie when I say that this is the best experience I've ever had with the lovely cocoa bean, and I wouldn't hesitate at all to relive it again.

Hidden away at the end of a narrow uphill driveway from the Harbour, it is only open to the public on Friday afternoons, from 2 p.m. They sell their wares by the kilo, so be warned this can seriously affect you dental health as well as weight. The goods on sale seem to depend on production that week or season. For example there were many Easter eggs on display before Christmas and last summer had the best assortment of Christmas wares you could imagine. The giant Smarties were ideal for decorating our gingerbread house (see photo). Both the sugared and burned almonds were fresh and delicious.
