First, I absolutely love Morse Elementary School! The teachers and staff are so supporting and really care about children. I want to focus my review on the Expanded Learning Program that provides after school care for my children. My family can go on and on about how exceptionally wonderful this program is! Mrs. Behan is the ABSOLUTE BEST and works so hard every day to ensure our children are not only supported, but are cared for and loved. When we first joined the program years ago, the idea of leaving my kids in someone else's care was unsettling. My worries quickly dissolved and it's to the point where my kids don't want to leave when I pick them up. They absolutely adore Mrs. Behan and enjoy all the amazing activities and opportunities the program offers. They have gotten to participate in drama club, basketball club, Lego club, and yoga just to name a few. The environment is welcoming and the kids are so well behaved and play well together. This could not happen without great leadership. I feel so lucky to have my children a part of this program and do not take it for granted. We truly appreciate all that Mrs. Behan and the staff at Expanded Learning pour into the program to ensure our kids are supported and loved. read more

W school it's pretty good 5/5 stars the food is mid could be better teachers are pretty good but really strict

I want to start out by saying that this review is for The Expanded Learning Before And After School Care Program they have at Morse Elementary School. NOT Morse Elementary School itself! If I could give EXPANDED LEARNING ZERO stars I would! I didn't want to give a low score to Morse because it's NOT their fault! The Lead teacher Stacy Behan and her Assistant Sean Davidson treated my daughter like GARBAGE! They should be ashamed of themselves! EXTREMELY unprofessional! They need to be more educated on what they CAN and can NOT say to children and that ALL children within their care should be treated EQUALLY!! You're NOT being paid to BULLY my daughter! You're there to keep her safe until I pick her up! I reached out to Asst. Director's Paula Sitar and Brenda Hohnstein with absolutely NO RESPONSE Not even a generic e-mail saying " Thank you for bringing this to our attention ." NOTHING from either one! I reached out to Director Dr. George Lopez earlier in the year to make a suggestion about something and NO RESPONSE! ZERO! It's clear to me and has been PROVEN to me that as a parent if you have ANY issues, have an idea or simply want to be heard, it's NOT going to happen with the higher ups at The Expanded Learning Program of PYLUSD!!!! They all get paid regardless, so what do they care? P.S. To my teachers Miss Sara and Miss Corey you girls are FABULOUS!!!! Thank you ladies for treating my kiddo with LOTS of LOVE and RESPECT and taking the time to laugh with her and when she gave you a hard time you just went with it!!! HaHa! My cousin goes to this school. We've had problems with the administration here and there but with a little understanding i think everything has worked itself out. its a safe school with gates and being locked up sot he kids are safe. theres a child care program for before and after school. most of the teachers my cousin has had are very attentive and some are strict. which is good like when i was a kid. PTA meetings are always upbeat and informative. a lot of parents actually participate here. The talent show is always entertaining. but i wouldnt allow these sexified acts to go on stage. theyre kids!when having problems with the administration, parents stick to your guns. I have been a Morse parent for 13 years and have seen the school blossom into a Distinguished School Blue Ribbon School. They have by far the most caring and devoted teachers that set high standards for all their students which students successfully meet year after year. More important if a student is struggling they have on campus resources to help the student meet their grade level goal. They also have a GATE program for those students who require an additional academic challenge. The campus is quite diverse and it is wonderful to see children from different backgrounds interact in such a positive and encouraging environment which is what makes Morse feel like a family community. There is also a great deal of parental involvement at this school. Teachers and administration encourage parent volunteerism in the classroom and on campus. The PTA hosts a Trunk-O-Treat for Halloween, Family Movie Nights, Loved One's Day, Reading Parties, Talent Show and an end of year Carnival, just to name a few of the events that go on at the school. We have had administrative changes over the years, but those shifts have not altered the schools drive to academic excellence and toward a fun safe environment for all students. read more
