This Sparky's is near the US 20 interchange and is a big car/truck complex. Gas was reasonably priced, but we had to park the car over by the trucks to walk in after filling up, as the front of the store spots were taken, mostly by motor cycle folks. Inside featured a nice array of snacks, some of them "home baked or cooked". Sparky's staff were all very friendly and helpful. We bought a cookie (and other snacks) and coffee, and we were soon on our way.

There's gas and a mainstay area that has candies, chips, sodas, etc. There is also an area in the back for seating where my father in law goes early in the mornings to drink coffee. - Good for snack junk food, fried cheese balls, Godfather's personal pizzas, warm sandwiches, and burritos. - They also have a fried chicken area where you can pick out a few pieces to make a dinner (it's in the same place as the rest of the warmed-up/fried food) - Coffee is horrendous, even for gas station coffee. Plus there is no liquid creamer option - only the powdered stuff. I have to say, I was appalled at this even knowing I was in small-town, middle-of-nowhere Iowa. I mean... these people drink a lot of coffee out here and there's no liquid creamer? Odd. Overall Sparky's is a mainstay to the people of Lake View. Obviously a lot of people rely on this place for gas and even for eating every so often.

You are about an hour away from Omaha to the west and one hour away from Des Moines to the east. The location is not remote, with fast food restaurants nearby and another gas station across the street.
