All we needed for a good dinner…read more After a long day (coming with the ferry from Ireland) and a bit of a drive we were looking forward to a home-cooked dinner. All we needed were the products. And on this Road Trip we've been always very happy with the products from Tesco. So we headed to Annan to stock up on groceries. It's a mid-sized Tesco, but had everything we needed that day. Dry-Aged steaks, Guacamole, Milk, Garlic Naan (always great, just 1£), fresh Salmon, veggies, beer and wine. Always a good stock of wines in Tesco, for good prices and every budget. Quality was - as usual - very good. Steak was nice and tender. Salmon tasted fresh too. Also a good moment to fill up the gas at Tesco's Gas Station and get some cash at the ATM outside. Another good visit at Tesco's.

But it is quite small, and the shop-floor is very cramped, which you had to say Excuse me to all customer every time you need to go through to get something from the shelf! You also can top up your mobile phone and pay cash/credit card Also it does not have customer toilets. Even this filling station do have a Car Wash which it is a brilliant, and I have used it, and it is quite reasonable priced. Also they do gives you free water for the windscreen, and air as well. This filling station tends to get busy during peak time, and the exit to the road are quite good, as it is controlled by traffic lights, so you will get in and out quite easily.

I think it's somewhere I shall use…read morefairly frequently from now on because it's very handy for me, being right next to Tesco, and not far from where I live. Because it's not in the middle of town, it's not very busy I've passed it many times and there are never long queues. There's a car wash to one side which I'll try sometime as well. The lady who served me inside the little shop yesterday was very friendly. You can also buy confectionery and newspapers here to save going into Tesco.

Well, take a taxi to Haltwhistle and peek in here. They have a variety of boots and shoes. I have to applaud the staff of this place for putting up with the crazy clientele they must encounter, as a 24 hour garage, with everyone from steamers to stoners pestering them for munchies in the early hours of the morning. By day, it's a pretty decent little service station, serving fuel and fags, milk and magazines, as well as a whole range of overpriced groceries. There's also a Wild Bean Cafe in here, serving surprisingly good coffee as well as a tasty selection of muffins and pastries to refuel your belly whilst you refuel your motor.
