Its the centrepiece of a very tidy shopping centre which houses names such as Next, Boots and so on, but the Tesco store itself is worth a visit on its own. Its huge - bigger than you might think, and really does contain anything you might need under the one roof - food, drink, DVDs, electrical goods, clothes and a Tesco direct counter. Also open 24 hours, and the couple of times I;ve been at 2am ish, its still been steadily busy!

It's not a huge store, but helpfully it's open 24 hours a day, although you do have to fight your way round the shelf stackers at night. Generally it's pretty well stocked, apart from the odd days around the major holidays where you can find the shelves dreadfully empty. There's a pharmacy, which I've never used, a Tesco Direct counter which works just as it should. The photo shop is always having their machine break down but when it's running the service is actually very good. A word of warning, there's a café tucked away upstairs at the far right of the shop, very easy to miss. I would definitely give it a miss, the breakfast is truly disgusting, and the coffee machine seems to be out of order whenever I go there. It's clean and tidy though.

Being in a shopping centre, it's not like visiting an out of town superstore, but I think that makes Waitrose better. They concentrate on food and drink instead of cut price clothes and electronics. They carry all the major leading brands, but also offer their own brand which is just as good as the top brands if not better. Being too expensive is an accusation often levelled at Waitrose, but they sell good quality, which costs and they also keep items yoiu might not see elsewhere. Every month, they also have special offers and three for two offers, so you can save some money depending on what you buy. The other thing about Waitrose is that it tends to be a low stree shopping experience. No trolley barging or masses of people, just well mannered people all doing their shopping, a slice of civility in today's hectic world.

With a very large car park available to customers there is always a place to park even when the store is busy. Take a pound coin for the trolleys though. Inside the store there is a very good cafe and customer toilets. There is always a very wide selection of products available and the shelves are kept well stocked. The in store butchers is fantastic and the meat quality is superb. The Butcher is on hand during daytime hours to cut joints and serve on the counter and the open plan style lets you see the cleanliness of the meat prep area which is spotless. The staff are very friendly and helpful and I have never had a bad experience in this store.
