On entering the shop you are greeted with a huge superstore that is on two levels. The ground floor has all the normal food items, a large book section, as well as options and a pharmacy. Upstairs has a home and electronic section as well as the now well know Tesco clothing range. There is also a small cafe. To get upstairs you have to go on an escalator that is more like a graduated conveyor belt, this allows your trolleys and disabled access up to these floors. The shop is generally well stocked and the staff are happy to help with queries. However I would avoid going on a Friday night as it gets very busy and the ques are long.

Sainsbury's is the only big store in town. I cannot drive, and because the other Food stores in town are small, I do 90% of my shop there. I am SICK of the lack of choice available. They only have the most basic foods available. The whole selection of Japanese, Chinese and Indian foodstuffs (beyond the vast selection of overpriced microwaved meals) and fit on one small shelf section. Only very basic fruit and veg. Basic meat. Basic everything. It feels like a store that's stuck in the 1950s. There's more of a selection of meat paste than of chillies or peppers. No joke, the local Londis (which is TINY) has more verity. And I wouldn't mind so much if the prices were good, but they're not. During a Cost of Living Crisis, you'd think they'd start stocking more Basics products, but they's mostly stocked the shelves with their "taste the difference" stuff that is usually a good 75% more expensive. For a brief moment, I thought that things were about to change. They started stocking a wider verity of products the other week, and it was a joy. Well, I guess that was a mistake, because only 3 days later, it was all gone. Maybe someone in charge would twig to the fact that because it all sold out in less than 2 days, they should order more. But no, because all the shelf labels are gone, and in their place are the same old things that I've gotten sick of. All of this, in a shop that feels so gloomy. The shop is fitted with a speaker system. I know this because of the occasional Ad they play at full blast, and because they do play music during Christmas. But the rest of the time, it is silent. It gives off the feeling that the management see their customers as nothing more than walking wallets. I am Sick and Tired of it. If you are coming to Tenby on holiday, might I suggest skipping Sainsbury's, and shop in Pembroke Dock? It is only 20 mins by car and you have a choice between Tesco Extra, Aldi, Lidl and Asda. If you are in town and need small stuff, there's a Tesco Express, the aforementioned Londis, a well stocked Post Office, and a Co-op. Just what ever you do, don't go to Sainsbury's.

What is not so commonly known is that Calon Wen is a Welsh dairy co-operative that produces organic milk and butter made from creamy Welsh organic milk. The fact that it's a co-op singles it out as being even more special. Thi of course means that everyone involved in the production of the milk and butter benefits equally, instead of the more feudal models that allow the fat cats to skim off all the profits, leaving the producers out in the cold. It's fair to say that the cost of the Calon Wen products is usually higher than their nearest rivals on whatever shop shelf you find them on, but th fact that this is an equitable business certainly prompts me to buy their goods in preference to some of the cheaper products.

Blown away that magazines are still selling and are considered "non essential" unlike the books in the back of the store considered "essential " (I would've loved to have purchased one of those) but they weren't selling them due to the fact that they weren't essential okayyyy, whelp.. heaven forbid we educate ourselves with books but yesss tabloids so important! As far as getting some assistance in this store.. I've never been so beside myself at self check out. The woman working that area was completely rude and told me next time, I need to go to customer service.. Some of them were in the wrong places and so I was searching for various products to no avail until I asked members of staff to help. It then turned out that things had been moved. I was particularly dismayed to discover that there is no longer a cafe in the store!! (I remember the one that was there a few years ago. Why on earth get rid of it? It meant there was nowhere for my husband to wait for me other than in the car) I enjoyed looking round the 'George' department and found a couple of bargains there. The cafe is probably the best Morrisons cafe we've discovered (and we've tried a lot of them around the country). It was so spacious, clean and tidy, and the staff friendly and pleasant. The service is appalling, many staff are surly and ignorant and the store feels dirty and un cared for. the store and its perimeter is always crowded with the ubiquitous teenage mums brigade presumably using it as a meeting place but you have to fight your way through them and their buggies to enter the store and this gives a really cheap impression to the area. I will not use this store unless I absolutely have to I prefer to drive 10 miles up the road to supermarkets which are better run and have a much more stable clientele. the range of goods is very limited but perhaps this is only to be expected since the store itself is not very big. tesco need to get their act together in this store and try and attract a better range of customers.

Tesco stores in Ammanford is quite a new store and was absolutely essential to the area when it…read morearrived. Whilst it is not the biggest store it does stock a good range of foods. Its compact nature means it does not stock clothes and things you may find at the larger extra stores. The store is always quite busy but for the most part there is always room in the car park. There is also a petrol station here. Staff are friendly and helpful and all in all I wouldnt hesitate to shop here.

To me personally I dont rate the store very highly as the limited range means I dont get to try as many new things. Staff are friendly and helpful and generally the store is well kept and clean. As this is the only store around it gets very busy and the car park can fill up very quickly.
