We quickly turned around and are so glad that we did! We had a really GREAT lunch and have already booked again for Christmas Eve when our daughter and new husband visit. It may sound odd but it used to be part of a very prestigious school for over a century - the most famous "Old Girl" was Richmal Crompton who wrote all the "William" books that I devoured as a kid. Now the whole complex is basically a old peoples home (Man are they lucky!!). So the lunchgoers were, on average, grey haired (but I am going that way too) - but it was fairly quiet in terms of lunchgoers and music (just the right volume - Christmas songs, Wham and many many more of the favorites. The restaurant drips class, the bistro also (full bar). A wide selection of offerings _ I seriously wanted the prawn curry but got lured into a Christmas special. While in Hull for work, I was in search for delicious coffee that was not by a chain and this place was a pleasant surprise. Tucked away in the arcade, the small cafe serves delicious, well-roasted coffee with both cows milk and my favorite, oat milk! They also offer pastries from a nearby bakery. Usually different each day and your choice of regular/vegetarian and a vegan option. I tried two vegan pastries and both were delicious. If I have the opportunity to venture back to Hull, this place is definitely one of my first stops.

The coffee itself was a beautiful Italian arabica, coated with chocolate powder and served with a small Italian biscuit on the side. Absolutely delicious. The panini was packed with smoked salmon and goats cheese, and was very tasty. Price wise, it was similar to most cafes. I ought to try their full breakfasts next time, they look great.
