My primary objective when I stopped at the Morrisons in Alness on Tuesday 9 July 2019 was to see if I could find some laundry detergent. I was on a 17 consecutive-day heritage travel trip to Scotland and did not bring clothes cleaning items. I looked at the offerings and did not find any travel size, so I went with some food items instead. They had both in-house prepared food offerings as well as packaged brands. The parking lot was large and I sat in my car eating my food. No one seemed to mind. I also withdrew money at an ATM on the front of the building, conversion was covered at withdrawal and I had no issues with the withdrawal processing.
Pricing was good, workers were kind, and the store easy to navigate. The overall feel of the place reminded me of a grocery store we have in Washington State (United States of America) called Haggen. It was also a grey day on my visit, which added to the overall feeling of home as I come from a place with lots of cloudy weather as well. read more
