Havin' fun isn't hard! St. Louis Public Library is a great place to check out books, DVDs and CDs…read more(what even are those?!), magazines, and they have some audiobook options as well - hashtag, trendy! If you are coming in quickly to pick something up, or if you come to sit and relax and work for a while, the environment is super calming and spacious. There are tables as well as comfy chairs and couches, making it welcome for everyone. The staff here is very helpful and have answers to any questions. There are always available spaces in the parking lot or nearby on the side streets. The Kingshighway location is super convenient to get to, and it's just a short walk away from Tower Grove Park, making for the perfect excuse to grab a new book and go sit outside for a while. The most recent time I came in, they had a featured section right in front of books for Women's History Month, which I love. They also have a rotating selection of "staff picks" as well as new releases and novels. I find myself wanting to branch out with something new every time I go in. The inventory is online and is updated often. There's an option to put items on hold and pick them up at your preferred location, making for a fast and easy in-and-out if you don't have time to walk around the library. Thanks to all the STLPL locations for being welcoming and awesome!

It's a treasure to me, filling with lots of gold n jewels....except its books and movies and things along those lines. I've never been to a library with a gift shop! Or a library that lets you check out cds! Or a library with three stories if you include the downstairs. Now imagine that all into three, how amazing. I'd also like to compliment the infastructure inside and outside. Decor is so cozy and amazing, and the outside is furnished with plants, trees...anything you could think of! How fun. The place was very organized as well! Very impressive I dare say. Everything seems perfect. So why am I giving this place a four stars? Service was a little rocky in my opinion, because the librarian checking us out and "helping us" was slacking very much. There was no whimsy, no joy, no shine or polish, nothing. This is why three out of five of the CDS I checked out were still locked, very unprofessional. This library is awesome though! Of course, as they say, a few bad apples don't ruin the whole batch so I want to overall give kudos to this library! I enjoyed my visit, thank you for making my stay feel awesome Kirkwood Public Library!

It has all of your essentials needs, as far as literature and computer usage, but their DVD collection is...meh. Some of the staff is usually friendly, but there's a few who aren't really nice, and always have a chip on their shoulders, for whatever reason. Community programs and townhalls are constant for the young and old, so the traffic is steady. I love the quaint feel it gives; it's one of the smaller branches in the city. To really have a pleasant experience, you'll want to get there early, especially when school is still in session. It's a hangout spot for neighborhood kids, and it can be a little rowdy. Also, there is a halfway house directly across the street. Many of those men come in and out all day. Some are a little stretchy, but there's usually an officer/security present. All in all, Carondelet isn't a bad place. There's a few hangups, but you get that anywhere, right? I'm a long time patron, so there's not must I fuss over. I go there because it's convenient and close by. I do what I need to do and then I'm out.

Marketplace is one of the westmost City SLPL branches. There isn't a public restroom and I didn't notice space to study. What I saw and liked were friendly staff and a bright, efficient library. They also offer access to computers. Eight computers you can reserve and one express computer. The reserved ones can be used hours at a time while the express allows 30 minutes of access. A variety of classes for kids and adults all year round. I figured the money I spend on books I'm only going to read once is kinda a waste in my end. When I can borrow a book, read it and take it back. Now you do need to stay in the area to get a library card at this location. So proof of residency is required. The librarians are extremely helpful when it comes to locating certain items and they all always full of information. Like... How do you know all this?!? I especially like Ebooks. This way I can download them from my computer to my smartphone or tablet. No need to go to the library physically with the Ebooks; everything is done online! At the end of the day.... Of course I will be back, I have to return a book!
