A short summary: Paul is a professional! He explained everything clearly and honestly. Pricing/rates were competitive and he did a great job. Would highly recommend. A little backstory: We are a military family and were not able to be here for the inspection and closing of our house due to being stationed in Virginia. We're first time home owners and being from the coast, it's also our first time maintaining a basement. The previous owners did a below-par job rigging our sump pump pipes and our inspector failed to mention it in his report. Paul noticed and explained how the way they rigged it was not efficient. While we were inspecting the front of the house where it currently drains, we found out from my neighbor that it previously had drained out the back of the house. The problem was it was flooding/freezing his garage since he is on lower ground. No matter how far you run the drain line out, it still goes down to his yard. Our previous owners rectified his issue by running varying sized pipes from the sump pump at the back of the house to the front of the house. This made the pump work even harder and the pipes were dipping in some places and higher in others. We were able to discuss the pros and cons of having it pump out the front or the back. Ultimately we don't want to have an issue with the neighbor and we'd have to install an expensive french drain if we ran it out the back. So we made plans to amend the situation in the spring by replacing the pipes, making them the same size, supporting/securing them to the ceiling better, and making sure it's pitched. We also plan to upgrade the way it flows out of the front yard. The main reason for his visit was to replace our sump pump which had been out of service for a few months, likely due to the bad rigging and who knows how old it was. He did this quickly and installed a new one in a timely manner. No pressure to make the other fixes until we are ready. We have a 5 year warranty on our pump and a one year labor warranty should we have any issues with the install! His rates were really great and we are happy with the price. We called around to other places and he was extremely competitive in comparison. Very satisfied and will recommend Morris Plumbing and use them again in the future! read more

Due to the historic rain on Saturday/Sunday I had water in my basement near the sump pump due to a broken check valve on my sump pump. I was also worried about water in another part of my basement on the carpet. Alex checked out both of my concerns. He replaced the broken check valve and explained how the water seeped up through the concrete in the carpeted area because my sump pump could not keep up. Alex is very friendly and professional, arrived on time, explained his findings, did the job, cleaned everything up. I called on Sunday and Alex was here on Monday. Cost is very reasonable. It's never fun to have plumbing issues, but these guys made it no big deal to fix. They were extremely friendly, fully explained everything before they did the work, and fixed the problem perfectly. I was hopeful Morris Plumbing would've worked, as I wanted to support a business in our neighborhood. Paul was great with coordinating a time for someone to come check out our leaking sink and lack of hot water pressure. We had someone come to our house and spent more time telling us that we "shouldn't have dried up the water" because he couldn't tell where the leak was. I explained to him that we had water coming from our upstairs bathroom and into the lower level...it was common-sense to shut off the water and try to dry things up? We had damaged walls already, why would we allow that to get worse while we try to have a plumber come? He probably told us that 5 times before trying any resolutions. When I shared with him that it had to have been coming from the sink since the water was directly below the sink and we saw all of the water under the sink cabinet...that didn't seem to be helpful. His resolution was to tighten our faucet...which though was loose, could not have contributed to the large amount of water we had. He stated that it very likely could've been something else but he didn't have the tools with him today so we would just have to wait and see if it leaks again...aka...we'd have to pay to have him come out again. He didn't do any tests to see where the leak may have been coming from and spent more time telling us what we shouldn't have done than helping us. It definitely felt like we were the last stop of the day and he was rushing to get out...too bad our invoice didn't reflect that as we paid over $160 to have someone correct us and tighten our faucet... We had another plumber come the following week and he cut into the walls to find the issue, as well as fixed our water pressure problem. read more
