Negatives: charges for printing, lots of papers to sign, difficult process for cards, expiration dates for cards, lose a card? You have to pay for another one have to be a certain age to use certain computers, have to have your card ON YOU to check anything out, charges for late gain quickly, attitudes from workers(specified later), and loud for a library. For the rude workers: Renee: VERY RUDE. She's the main worker. She's in charge of both the children's section AND the teenager section of the library. While she's pretty good at taking charge of the children's section, she has NO idea what she's doing in the teenager section. She's on top of everything in the children's section, but when it comes to the teenagers, she's coming in late to the programs, shutting down some of the favorite programs, never refills the snacks that the teenage section is known for and loved for, and is fairly rude to all the teenagers. I have also heard that she is very rude to the workers as well. A bad person in general. She's seen at the children's section most of the time. The workers behind the counter and in the teen section are very nice people! I love talking to Shannon and Danielle. While the people upstairs can be rude at times, the people behind the counter on the main floor are very polite and love to help with any problem that you have. Mostly pleased with this location. Renee is the only reason why I put this rating at 3 stars. You'd think I'd put it at four, but the negative effect she has on the library is so great that I have to put it a 3. I recommend this library to a LOT of people, I just recommend to stay out of the children's section.

Well, yes, it's JUST a library, but I've been in numerous libraries in my lifetime and I must say…read morethis one is the best by far. Extremely clean, neat and orderly. The staff are exceptional, friendly and go above and beyond to help you with anything -- if they don't have it, they do everything they can to get it for you! They offer tons of special get-together from book clubs to tot-reading meeting groups. They have this thick reference binder with lists of "Like" authors that I've never seen before -- for example, if you love to read books by John Grisham -- you like his style, but you've already read everything he wrote, the reference binder they have up at the front desk (You'll have to ask) has a list of authors that write similarly (either topic or style) to John Grisham (or any other MANY MANY MANY authors). If you are like me and often wish for a place to just "get away" from your home, kids, or husband (but can't afford to run off and hide in Jamaica), then come hide out here! Since it's a library which requires the ambiance must be quiet and peaceful, you have the perfect excuse as to why you didn't answer your cell phone ;-)

Flash-forward some 30 (eh-hem) years and the marseilles library still serves the small community. The library has had many updates in general building aspects as well as technology. The librarian I met was nice, engaging and helpful. They still provide events for children and are active in the community. Every summer they have a great fundraiser- a used book sale. It is a relaxing place where you often see a familiar face and families spending time together. While it would be great to have even more technological advances, what they have given a small community with limited resources is worthwhile and appreciated.

They were so excited about my 5yo being so into reading already! My 5yo was really excited to get her own card and the children's librarian made it a big deal which made my daughter feel very special. They have several spaces for young kids to play and sit and read. They have DVDs you can check out for free for 5 days, plenty of books. They have a lot of cool events going on over there throughout the year including Storytimes for different ages. We will be visiting this library for a loooong time.

Their computer monitors are very state-of-the-art; they have the ability to rotate almost completely sideways (watch sideways) & the height can also be lowered or raised -if You like to sit up high and keep the screen at eye-level! They move a couple more ways but, they do not tilt backwards -which would be necessary if You stood up and we're looking down at the monitor. Their media catalogue contains literally hundreds of great DVDs & a similar amount of Blu-rays! They offer a large selection of biographies/autobiographies; such as Erika Jayne's autobiography! Their second floor consists of 8 computers (4 on each side with) lots of desk surface for Your things! Drinks are okay if they have a lid/cap. Don't worry about space if You bring Your own device(s); they have about 8 personal tables for You & 2 friends (3 seats total!) Take note that not all tables have a charging outlet located on the floor. There is also a large area to the left (which is circular) for about 15 people to work privately! Not sure yet about the outlet situation over there. Bring large charging cables for Your devices in any situation. The computers have many charging outlets on the desk; charge 4-5 things if needed! It's probably best to bring a "multiple USB" usb adapter; there is only one usb port on the monitor with others possibly located elsewhere. The monitor has an SD card reader; buy an SD adapter to load files on Your TF/Micro SD card and place Your uploaded files on the micro so card into Your teléfono! It's a perfect library with even more perfect Librarians -my favorite aspect of anyplace that I visit! Shout out to Colette, Carmela, Andrea, Heather, Niel; my favorite Librarians!!! The problem with public libraries is just that they are open to the public and every weirdo and crazy is allowed access. Police calls and rude behavior are common where as in a school setting the clientele are usually interested in studying and learning, if not the librarian just may crack them with a ruler. On a more positive note the library has an annex where they can hold presentations and seminars typically at no charge, events may range from historical, to hobbies to children reading programs. Despite all the noise and distractions the Reddick library is involved in the community, for a quiet place to read I give it one star for community involvement I give them a 5.

I saw staff readily helping patrons throughout the library with multiple service points. I was here for training in there computer lab and the librarians extended us every courtesy. I'm jealous that their community invests so much in their libraries.
