Epi is like having a little corner of Paris in Bonn! *Real* French baguettes, perfect pastries, and…read moreever-so-tempting desserts.
My favorite food at Epi requires me to become a bit anti-social: a freshly warmed baguette with Brie, rucola and a honey chutney-ish dressing (Brie a Miel). Stinks so bad, tastes so good!! :-)
Of course, one simply can't leave without sampling an eclair (or three), Monte Cristo, brioche, tart or macaroon. Better yet, buy one of each! I would especially recommend the white chocolate and pistachio Monte Cristo, and the apricot brioche... but then I'd have to leave out the three-cheese quiche and fondant chocolate, and that would just be wrong.
Epi imports French flour to ensure that their pastries and breads are authentic. As a result, it's a bit pricey - and worth every penny. Oh, and they have some delicious hot chocolate, teas and imported sodas, too. But, seriously - who can think about that when face-to-face with the most tender and flaky chocolate croissant in Germany?
The only downside is that they close at 19:00... sometimes a girl just needs a praline at 19:30, people!!
