I dropped by this afternoon to pick up and return books (so very convenient to pre-order and pickup). The library has two floors. The first floor has checkout desks and some book collections. Notable parts of the first floor are Meeting Rooms, printers, Large Print Books, and passport services (the latter super convenient). The second floor has additional book collections, reference desk, some meeting rooms, computer lab, and book shop. The book shop has cool sales every months with $5 fill the bag specials. Collections at the library are very versatile, you can find all kinds of books. The library hosts a lot of events that are accessible for booking on the library's website. The library also has onsite herb garden, which is pretty amazing. It's a wonderful space for the community. Parking is located in the back of the library with ample amount of space available. At the front there's a connecting pedestrian bridge to another parking lot. I highly recommend a visit, it's a very serene location!

The last time I visited this library branch it was pre-COVID to see my favorite author speak. COVID…read morestill exists (I dislike saying its over) but since it's improved, author talks have resumed. I was delighted to see them again bring back my favorite author to celebrate the release of their new book. I think the staff is going through some pains deciding how to handle flow at author events in the improved covid era. There was a lot of confusion around the formation of lines with no clear instructions given. But again, I hold a lot of empathy for trying to navigate this new world we live in. So please, be patient with the staff if you attend an event here in 2023. The overall point is that author talks are back and it's delightful. The library still has ample parking, is as clean as a whistle, and doing its best to bring us free programming and support our love of reading. I am always so grateful for the breadth of programming CCPL works so hard to put on!

Book shelves look more organized there is a nice kid section with stairs that's take you to a "treetop" sitting area upstairs. There is a community room that hold certain activities and events. There is some seating in designated areas. There is even a cute fireplace in the room I'm sitting in with tables and comfy chairs. There is a "study area" for school kids. This is the downside. The middle school is right across the street so kids come over after school and wait for their parents to come pick them up. Kids can be loud and abnoxious, talking loudly about alcohol and drugs. *rolls eyes* I know I've been that age before but it's distracting and hard to concentrate on work or reading.. the staff is pleasant and available to help you. I like to come here alot with my laptop and coffee for a nice place other than my house to work and study or just play on my phone. It's a change of scenery and plenty of brightness. It's convenient but could use some help for relieving new books. They can be hard to locate here if there are any. I just like coming here since it's pretty clean and close by.

This place is basically the reason I am a literate adult, hold an MLIS, and had any perspective on the outside world as a child. The collection was old and small. The old building was pretty majestic - a real historic landmark - and I'll never quite forgive them for moving locations. New is not always better. The librarians knew me well. I used to BEG my mom to take us here when we were kids. Not to the movies, not to the mall...to the library. The magic place where I could get BOOKS for FREE. As an adult, I've sought refuge here when visiting the fam as it is probably the only place in Ashtabula County with wireless internet. The best memories of my childhood by far are of the GPL.

I was excited to see it as I'm a fan of comic books and wrote both my M.A. thesis and PhD dissertation about comic book history. It's a private residence, so we only read the signage and took some photos near the signs, but the owners clearly enjoy their historical legacy and care for it well. They have Superman statues visible in their garden and cardboard cutouts of Superman in the upstairs windows. Just know that it's a one-way street and be respectful if you want to read the signage.

Everyone who works here is extremely helpful whether it's locating a book within the library or putting a hold/request on an item they are great and always do it with a smile.
