I ate here twice while staying at the Roomers Hotel, and highly recommend. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the ambiance is really fun and hip, and the food was really quite good.
The first night I had the omakase for one, and everything was really, really good. The nigiri and sashimi were delicate and fresh, and the special rolls had not only a ton of flavor, but really interesting textures (some crunch involved). That and some warm sake (fine, and a Japanese whiskey) made for an excellent meal.
The second time I had gyoza and some hamachi crudo to start, and then a spicy tuna roll. The gyoza were good but not great, but presented in a really unique way with some fried panko, I think connecting all the dumplings. The hamachi was excellent and I really enjoyed the roll as well.
It isn't an especially quiet place, with the clubby music going on, but if you're looking for some really good Japanese food in a fun atmosphere and are staying in the area, definitely give it a try! read more
