Dr Fakhri changed my life. no lie…read more I had been suffering for a year with chronic sinusitis. It had gotten so bad that I was missing class and work on a regular basis. My previous ENT just prescribed me antibiotics...for an entire year. I was getting so desperate that I found Dr. Fakhri through a medical journal search. he is a faculty member at UT Houston, as well as a practicing physician, and he has conducted significant research in Head/Neck issues. I sent him an email explaining my symptoms and he e-mailed me back the SAME NIGHT. a SUNDAY. that doesn't usually happen.... The first time I saw him he immediately diagnosed the problem, and had me in surgery to fix it within a week. I felt an instantaneous improvement and I am so grateful that I found this doctor. My quality of life improved drastically. He is extremely friendly and personable and will go out of his way to make sure you're getting the care you need. If you are experiencing severe sinus issues, I highly recommend Dr. Fakhri. He is toats worth the drive to the med center!!

What Dr. George Fisher and countless other ENT's couldn't do........ .....Dr. Fakhri did. I would have never met Dr. Fakhri had it not been for Dr. Bechhara Ghorayeb. Having been to a multitude of allergists and ENT specialists, the conclusion at least for me was that I was seen more as a "client" - not a patient. Merely relegated to someone to keep checking in every three months to pay for the office visit and be given prednisone. Just a routine customer. Hey it's all about repeat business, right? That all changed after a visit with Dr. Ghorayeb. My sense of taste and smell gone, he concluded I needed surgery to remove polyps that had created nearly 100% blockage in one of my nostrils. "But I've already had 2 surgeries for that, " I informed him. "Hmmmm this is a very delicate area in which to have repeat surgeries," he said, "And I'm afraid I won't be able to attempt yet another one." "But aren't you an ENT?", I asked. "Yes," he replied "but you'll need to see a specialist capable of navigating through something so delicate. Remember this area is incredibly close to your brain and eyes." He took his cell phone out and made a quick call right there while under his care. "When you go back up to the front, the receptionist will have an address and phone number to someone I suggest you see." The difference maker to me is Dr. Fakhri took a personal interest in my issue and made it a point to not prescribe yet another panacea to keep me coming back over and over. He inquired about my previous surgeries and I noticed surgery wasn't what he wanted me to go though but it might be needed. He tried every measure to prevent that but to make a long an already long story short - surgery was needed. The result was fantastic. And I'm happy to report I'm off all medications with the exception of being treated with aspirin and only 1 rinse a day of warm water mixed with Neil Med sinus rinse and montelukast powder. That's it. That's the maintenance. No longer am I a walking medicine cabinet. Since 2010, I can smell. I can taste. Even seasonal allergy flare ups are RARE. Life is good. So I don't know who to thank - Dr. Ghorayeb or Dr. Fakhri Did he change my life? You tell me.

Having grown up outside of the United States, where becoming MD is not a ticket to the millionaire club I noticed that these days more and more MD's career choices are motivated by income and far less by desire to help. Dr. Debroeck is a true doctor! Honest, knowledgeable, always with a smile and a great sense of humor even in harsh situations. He puts his patients first! Frankly after ten years I cannot say enough praise about the man and his staff. Some years ago a friend of mine who recently immigrated to the US and did not have PCP got sick. After talking to several doctors, this person asked me to help, I recommended Dr. Debroeck and went along to translate. Dr. Debroeck suspected hypothyroidism and ordered the blood work. He was 100% correct in his diagnosis. While I can go on and on with great examples, I can conclude that the world would be a better place if each one of us was more like Dr.Debroeck.

I have been to over 20 doctors for medical problems and every single office will verify insurance. I told the office that the doctor was in network according to my insurance. But they said I still needed to call my insurance to double check if the insurance will actually cover it. So I call my insurance and the insurance company says "do you have the codes for me to input so I can check?" What codes? What the hell is he talking about? He says the codes and all the information that insurance companies need would be information the doctor's office would generally have. This isn't patient information. This is why he doesn't like it when doctor's offices won't call themselves to verify. This is why doctor's offices SHOULD AND DO call insurance and verify themselves. I was the told I needed to call the doctor's office to get the codes and the insurance company call back. Seriously?! Why should a patient ever need to be the third person who is going between doctor office who has doctor information such as codes for procedures and the insurance? Almost every other doctor and doctor's office I have ever been to does that for the patients!! Needless to say ONE HOUR LATER I cancelled my appt bc I was essentially told by the insurance that bc they don't have the codes from the doctor's office for my procedure, I won't know whether or not my appt will be covered.

Obviously, he is a busy doctor (and I would never expect him to remember me, my personal situation, etc after not seeing him for 3 years), but he must have reviewed my file before entering the exam room. He walked in recapping my visit from 3 years ago. I had forgotten much of what was discussed the previous visit, so it was helpful for me to hear it again. I was visibly nervous. I knew my sinuses were going to be examined since I had been battling a terrible infection for over a month. I was not looking forward to those orifices being poked due to sensitivity. Dr. M was very gentle and explained everything in good detail. I had a nose scope done during my visit. The procedure does not hurt, it is just weird having something go up your nose. I was anxious and hesitant. Dr. M stopped several times to let me take a breath and get comfortable again. That was so helpful. I feel like he really cares about his patients. To be fair, I am a nervous Nelly. The anticipation of the exam is always worse than the actual exam. However, I appreciate Dr. M not getting impatient with me. That would have only made it worse. For me, trust is earned through patience shown and delicately handling my situation. I am going back for a sinus x-ray today. They do them in house which is nice because the location of his office is very convenient. They have a great parking garage too. Had he not been so patient and made me feel so comfortable, I would not have gone back. Thank you for being so ginger with me, Dr. M. You are the best!

He swabbed me for mono and they insisted that the deductible would be $800 to send it to the lab....that my insurance covers 100% of. I refused to have the swab sent into the labs and one of the staff members had an attitude with me because it was almost like I "wasted" their time. On top of that, a camera was used on my nose and I was charged an additional $200 without being notified of the extra cost which they filed as a surgery under my insurance. Dr McCutcheon only speaks in medical terms that only another doctor would understand and anytime you ask what is going on, I felt like I was being treated like a kid. After years of pain and strep, I still have no answers. I DO NOT recommend this doctor unless you have no problem spilling out what could have been an extra $1000 dollars on top of my co-pay. Totally feel ripped off.

The online booking was great because I was able to fill out all of my paperwork beforehand, including insurance information. That was important because the office staff were able to have all of my potential out of pocket expenses listed in advance. The process was seamless from checking in, being examined by Dr. Kaplan himself, all testing needed was performed in the office that day. And Dr. Kaplan was transparent about all costs associated with my care. I was happy to book my sinus surgery under anesthesia for the following week. The initial process took less than 2 hours total. Which, being in healthcare and knowing how time consuming it can be to get a CT scan ordered and then done, or an allergy test ordered and then performed could take weeks. My surgery day experience was excellent. Checking in took place a few days in advance by confirming my information via email. All I needed to do was pay my out of pocket expenses. The nurse, Linda, greeted me and my driver and handed him post op instructions. I was taken to my procedure room on time. My anesthesiologist Dr. C, and the nurse anesthetists were comforting, jovial, and extremely professional. Dr. Kaplan joined my room as soon as my IV was in. I was made comfortable and drifted off to sleep. When I woke up I was gently escorted into a wheelchair and moved into a post surgical room to meet with Dr. Kaplan. He did a great job explaining what he did and what to expect. He also encouraged me to call him anytime if I have any questions/issues. I left the office breathing better than I walked in. Dr. Kaplan and his team are amazing! Thank you so much.

They are caring, professional, and genuinely great to work with. If political memorabilia in a doctor's office is enough to make you decide not to receive care there, then perhaps this simply isn't the office for you. Personally, we have never had an issue with it, and it certainly does not change the quality of care we have received over the years. It seems to me that some people are allowing their political views to overshadow what really matters--the quality of the doctor and the care his office provides. If you have a problem with the political memorabilia, you have every right to choose another office, but that doesn't take away from the excellent care we have received from Dr. Nguyen and his staff. PS: I LOVE THE MEMORABILIA THAT IS DISPLAYED!!

Dr. K. Nguyen may be a knowledgeable neurologist; however, my experience with his office staff,…read morescheduling practices, and overall patient care environment was extremely disappointing. The lack of professionalism, communication, and respect for patients' time significantly undermines confidence in the practice. Today, my 90-year-old mother, who has Alzheimer's disease, had a scheduled 9:00 a.m. appointment. We arrived at approximately 8:50 a.m., checked in on time, and waited. At 9:30 a.m., after receiving no update, I approached the front desk and asked how much longer we should expect to wait. I was told that Dr. Nguyen had four patients ahead of us. Given that our appointment was scheduled for 9:00 a.m., I was understandably confused. The staff member simply stated that he would be with us shortly. At approximately 9:40 a.m., we were called back and taken to Room 5. While waiting, I noticed political memorabilia displayed in the patient-care area that I found inappropriate for a professional medical environment. Having worked in corporate America and higher education for more than 30 years, I believe patients should be able to receive medical care in an environment that remains professional and welcoming regardless of their personal or political beliefs. By 10:30 a.m.--an hour and a half after my mother's scheduled appointment--we still had not seen Dr. Nguyen or received a meaningful update. I left the examination room and asked to reschedule. Rather than expressing concern or apologizing for the delay, a staff member again told me that four people were ahead of us and that we needed to wait. I explained that our time should be respected just as we respected the physician's time by arriving before our scheduled appointment. The staff member threw her hands in the air and directed me to speak with someone at the front desk. What was particularly troubling was the apparent lack of concern for the circumstances. I explained that I was accompanying a documented 90-year-old Alzheimer's patient. Anyone who cares for an elderly person with dementia understands that getting that individual prepared, transported, and to a medical appointment on time can require considerable planning and effort. I was then told that Dr. Nguyen "always runs late" because he goes to the hospital before coming to the office. If the practice knows that the physician routinely cannot begin seeing patients at the scheduled time, then appointment times should reflect his actual availability. Patients--particularly elderly and medically vulnerable patients--should not routinely be scheduled for appointments at times when the physician is not reasonably expected to be available. Even more concerning was the staff's attitude that this was simply normal and that patients should accept it. There was no apology, no proactive communication, and no apparent recognition that expecting a 90-year-old Alzheimer's patient to wait indefinitely is unreasonable. If the office knew the physician was significantly behind schedule, a simple phone call or text would have allowed us to adjust our arrival time. Instead, we arrived early, waited approximately 90 minutes, and ultimately left without seeing the physician. I am also requesting confirmation that neither my mother's insurance nor my mother will be billed for a physician visit that did not occur. Medical offices cannot always control emergencies or unexpected delays. However, they can control how they communicate with patients and how they treat them when delays occur. Courtesy, transparency, empathy, and respect for patients' time should be basic expectations--especially in a neurology practice serving elderly and cognitively impaired patients. Unfortunately, our experience demonstrated none of those qualities. What could have been handled with basic communication and compassion instead became an unnecessarily frustrating and disrespectful experience. All for a 15min appointment that never happened!

I decided to downgrade them by one star because my wait times for appointments became absolutely…read moreridiculous. It didn't matter if I was 15 minutes early or three minutes late, I always had to wait at least 30 minutes to be called back, and at least 20 more before being taken into an exam room. Even then, I'd have to wait another 20 before the doctor actually showed up. That's ridiculous, and nobody has that kind of time to spare. We all have stuff to do! My last visit, the entire appointment took a little over three hours from the time I got there and signed in until I walked out of the front doors. And this was for a follow up exam and a flu shot, nothing that might actually take a lot of time. And they don't care! I peeked out of my exam room to ask how much longer it would be, and Dr. Manning was just writing away on whatever, told me "I'll be with you shortly, " and that was it. No apology for having to wait 90 minutes to be seen. If I were really late to an appointment, I wouldn't have an appointment, but doctors apparently get to do what they want. Needless to say, I found another doctor. I don't have 2-3 hours to spare every time I need to visit my doctor. I've been to emergency rooms that got me in and out in three hours, and an urgent care emergency room that had me out in an hour! Not a good reflection on a doctor's office.
