I've been into Dr. Patricia Maeso's office a few times now, once for some hearing issues (which ended up in my discovery of issues with my TMJ muscle), and two times now for seperate sinus infections. Every time I've been into her office, she has always been courteous, a good listener, and very to the point. She was able to get me the medicine I needed, and gave reasonings behind her observations. As someone who is not a big fan of doctors, she is one that I currently respect, and though I don't hope to go back soon, I know which doctor I trust in my sinus related health issues!

Thank goodness I did not have 3 squirming toddlers or 3 cranky senior citizens with me. Went back to visit with the receptionist - another 2 hours out of my busy schedule...but of course since I'm not a doctor my time is worth nothing. Asked the receptionist about getting my medical records from archives, she gave me Lisa's phone number and told me to call Lisa. I promptly called Lisa and faxed to her a signed release form to give my medical records to another doctor, hopefully a competent doctor with competent staff. Another week goes by and I call the new doctor to see if Lisa had sent my requested information from 2004 -- guess what she sent the new doc a copy of my release form, duh. Failed to send the medical records from archives. Are there any intelligent folks left out there? Guess who I get to call tomorrow to find out what has been happening to my request that I originated 5 weeks ago. Have wasted so much precious energy that what is a few more hours to write complaint letters to the State and Federal agencies that oversee these professionals, and nope this is not Obama's fault.

After struggling with regular sinus infections, unpredictable allergies, etc, I finally gave in and booked my appointment with the allergist. The receptionist was exactly right - the doctor saw me on time and didn't make me wait. The allergy test itself took about 1 1/2 - 2 hours, but the whole way through the process, the doctor and the nurse were both extremely communicative and attentive. I was extremely impressed with the amount of time and care they took with me through the process. After my allergies were determined, they explained the allergy shot process and insurance coverage. I made the decision to begin allergy shots about 2 weeks after my test was complete. My experience with the weekly shots has been just as satisfactory as the initial visit. No appointment is needed, but they have specific hours for the shots. Upon arrival and signing in, you are called back for your shot(s) within 5 minutes. There is a 20 minute waiting period for observation after the shot(s) has been administered, but I would rather be safe and under medical care if I have a reaction vs. driving in my car and searching for my epi pen. I'm really hopeful that the shots will help alleviate all of my issues, but I do realize it will take some time to get to this place. Although it is definitely a time (and $$$ commitment), it is so reassuring knowing you are in good hands with a quality doctor and sweet nurses. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone suffering with allergy/sinus issues.

The receptionist asked which clinic I would like to be transferred to. I told her I wasn't sure, as I wasn't a patient yet and just needed to know first if my insurance was accepted. I had no idea by the listing that this was a multi site facility. She barked back, "Well, I have 10 clinics and I need to know which one you want to be transferred to," and proceeded to rapidly rattle off locations - I couldn't understand her or get a word in edgewise. I asked her to "HANG ON!" no less than 5 times - just so I could take the phone away from my ear and look at the address for the location I thought I was calling. She was extremely hostile. At that point I said "You know what? Forget it. Your phone etiquette..." click! She hung up on me! I called back. The phone rang 9 times before she answered. She rattled off her intro and I said "I just want to know your NAME." She said "Excuse me?" I said "Your name. What is your name?" She replied "Brenda at the switchboard." Whoever manages "Brenda at the switchboard" should know she SHOULD NOT be the first point of contact for these office(s). Her phone manner is rude and condescending. I'm sick. I'm looking for a doctor. And my encounter with "Brenda on the switchboard" was not what I needed, but enough for me to look for a different clinic. If this is how an initial phone call is handled, I'm afraid to let anyone there touch me!

And if you make an inquiry via their website, they are very responsive. My appointment was with Dr. McCutcheon & I will admit I requested him because he is the older brother of an old clubbing buddy from the 80s (yes, I understand that was eons ago). The office is located right off of the Katy freeway & parking is convenient via the attached garage. The office is clean & the wait was brief. I was shown toward the back of the practice or Dr. Lippeatt's domain where I was seated in what looked like a faraday cage to have my hearing tested. Turns out my right ear is a bit worse than my left. After the testing I was seated & waited briefly for Dr. M. We spoke about my hearing loss & the possibility of hearing aids. Lots of question & him looking in each ear had me feeling at ease that the ringing can be controlled. I highly recommend MVSH!

Better Call to make your appointment, because their online system is shit.

I've had 7 surgeries. over the course of 40+ years. With awful drainage & constant puss, blood, drainage, with the smell of rotten flesh, severe Vertigo & motion sickness all my life With 4 different ENTs then otolaryngologic. Dr. Peters in Dallas was as good as it gets he operated twice L & R got my right fixed and was able to remove all the cholesteatoma.. But NO Dr. could get the cholesteatoma completely out, and it con't to grow like cancer. I felt hopeless. But Dr. CLegg my ENT for 40 yrs in Kingwood Best ENT you will get with Great bed side manners the BEST dr. I have! My case was to severe for him, he tried operating once in 94 but it was so bad, he wasn't ready for what he saw behind the bony wall, he did his best, but was shocked how bad it was. He had to leave part of the cholesteatoma in my ear... Years later I needed surgery 2008 so He called Dr Nichols on the last week of Dec before my insurance ran out. He got me in & Dr. Nichols made time in his schedule to do the surgery. He did major reconstructed of my ear and removed all the Cholesteatoma. Even Dr. Clegg was amazed. I'm Cholesteatoma free & have no issue getting my ears clean once a year now.I can't say enough about Dr. Nichols as a surgeon, He is best hands down! Yes he has no bed side manners & can come across with poor social skills & bad bed side manners. I experienced what all the negative reviews have said in that regards... But if you want The Best Surgeon In Texas. I don't care about poor social skills, bed side manners because his, knowledge & performance as a surgeon & yrs of experience is hands down TOP NOTCH. I would not hesitate one minute to recommend him to my family, wife, kids, friends! You won't get the best bed side manners, and the office may have issue sometimes, I went through this too, but all offices have issues, they all do! Be patience, slow to anger or irritation... but if you want to be healed, get the best professional surgeon with the best experience in his field Dr. Nichols is who you want!!! I'm completely amazed, grateful, thankful, and blessed with the work he did on my ear. He said he did a lot of work on my ear, (and when a Dr. says this they mean it) and afterwards he admired his worked, as well as did my ENT Dr. Clegg. I no longer squirm and slide out of my chair when they stick that suction rod in my ear to do routine cleaning now... He takes pride in his work. When he finished surgery my mum said he was quick to explain how my surgery went and how I did, and was rushed. But I could care less! He was, and is hands down the best surgeon I've experienced after 7 surgeries and 5 different Dr.s ...I may add, That after this, Dr. Clegg has worked with him and has deferred all the severe cases he can't resolve to Dr. Nichols. And Dr. CLegg audiologist who I just saw to have 2 new hearing aide modes made. I told her about Dr. Nichols being a great surgeon but not so good on the bed side manners, and she chuckled and said I was like the 12th person to tell her that. But I told her how good of a surgeon he was, and she also said the other patients agreed and were very happy and pleased with his results...So I'm disappointed with these negative reviews. And I can't express how good a surgeon and doctor. Dr. Nichols is...Disregard the negative reviews if you want the best professional Dr. in his field! Go look at his accolades, awards, experience, and education...
