If you're in need of a top-notch chiropractor, Dr. Lundbaek has got your back (literally)!…read more I had the misfortune of throwing out my back last week. This was certainly a new experience for me (ahh, the joys of turning 40!). The pain in my lower back was so excruciating, I could barely get out of bed and walk. I would walk a few feet and then out of nowhere I would get a sudden jolt of pain. I felt like someone was sticking needles in a voodoo doll of me. Thank God for Dr. Lundbaek. He came highly recommended to me by my mom (which is high praise indeed), my Godmother, and a few tennis friends. I called his office up on Friday morning, and they got me in for an appointment just a few hours later. This was my first time visiting a chiropractor, so I didn't really know what to expect. For some reason, I was anticipating some sort of hippy dippy experience full of chakra-talk, crystals, and patchouli oil. Well, I couldn't have been more way off. Dr. Lundbaek was very down-to-earth, professional, and got straight to business. He quickly assessed my situation (2 out-of-whack vertebrae), and immediately went to work to help my poor, aching back. I'll admit, I didn't feel all that better after the first visit. But I came back again 2 days later for more adjustment. And after my 3rd visit the following day, I actually felt like a human being again. It's been 5 days, and my back pain is now a thing of the past (and I couldn't be more grateful). I would totally recommend Dr. Lundbaek for all of your chiropractic needs. And while I hope that I never damage my vertebrae again, I know that if I ever do, he'll be the first person I call to get my back!

So when my teenage kitten (who gets into everything) suddenly couldn't jump up on the counter, I thought, "Should I leave him like this so he breaks less stuff? OR should I ask Dr Lundbaek?" I took my cat to him and he did a little adjustment. In gratitude, my damn cat knocked a beautiful lathe bowl off the mantelpiece and broke it. I shared the story with Dr Lundbaek, and that I'd reached out to Nextdoor to find a woodworker to hopefully glue it back together. Dr Lundbaek said "Oh, I'm a woodworker, I'd be happy to take a look at it if you like". Love this guy.

The main reason for this review, though, is the Softwave device, which has been very helpful for my knee. Most chiropractic offices have Shockwave, which I've found is too aggressive and doesn't give me the same immediate pain relief like Softwave does. As far as I know, Dr. Ian is the only local provider of Softwave, which I'm grateful for. Also, Nicky -- the office manager -- is so wonderful & sweet!

I've also had several massages here with different therapists and have consistently had an excellent experience. She was thoughtful, attentive, and clearly invested in helping me actually feel better -- not just getting through the appointment. I left feeling noticeably better and have already booked another session with her. I've also seen Rosa, who was wonderful. You really can't go wrong here. Five stars all around!

So, encouraged, I finally called. Why didn't I do this months ago?? I've only gone twice now (once each week) for the past two weeks and already feeling MAJOR relief. I am doing this in conjunction with getting my lazy butt back into shape and a healthier lifestyle so the yoga, stretching, running and core workouts I've done in that time are also contributing to this success. When he was allowed to return, it still didn't feel good and he was facing the decision that he might not be able to compete senior year in order to be ready for college. Enter Serafina and Intrinsic Chiropractic. A friend recommended that we try shockwave therapy through Serafina. Within 2 treatments there was marked improvement and within four treatments he was jumping without pain. And really I mean pounding on it without pain and he could no longer push into the bone to trigger any pain. It was miraculous. He was able to compete again and compete at his full abilities. Fast forward a couple weeks and he unfortunately rolled his ankle before the championship and suffered a high ankle sprain, he could hardly walk with out a severe limp. There was only time for a few treatments before the finals, so that was not enough time or treatments to pound on it with that intensity, but he was once again able to get great relief within a couple treatments. In a week and a half he is without pain (can't jump yet) but with each treatment there is noticeable improvement. Serafina is amazing. She is genuine in her passion to take care of the whole person.
