We started using Hartland last year when we decided to fill our wood burning fireplace in with a…read moregas log insert. My husband was in charge of finding the best place to use to install and fill the two tanks. So, I can't take all of he credit. We lease two propane tanks and then when one tank is empty, we have them come out and swap it out for a filled one. The rate for the propane fluctuates, just like the rate of gasoline does. The insert burns 34,000 btus in an hour, if it's turned full blast, but we run ours on low, and only went through one tank last year. Keep in mind, we had a pretty bad winter last year. In addition to not using a huge amount of propane, our electricity bill decreased drastically because of the insert. I wasn't home last year when they came out and installed the tanks, but I was home on Friday, when they brought and switched out the replacement. The guy was super nice, I thought that he was a friend of my husband's. My husband said no, everyone at Hartland is super nice like that. That being said, I highly recommend a gas insert and using Hartland to service it.

They replaced our switch a couple of times and it still doesn't work properly. Finally I called AGAIN and Dwayne, (the office manager) asked what I wanted him to do about it. When I replied to please either fix it, or we will have to find service elsewhere he told me he would be picking up his equipment and then said goodbye and hung up. Amazingly enough they were out in less than 24 hours for that! I walked out and asked for the owners name to contact him with these concerns since I as a business owner would want to know. Dwayne was here for the pick up and explained again he was the office manager and I did not get the owners name. My Mother has had their service since 2009, never been late and has always paid in full. They will be losing a good customer.

We contacted to return and found out they charge 20% restocking fee. Was never told nor does their receipt state you cannot return items or that you would be subject to restocking fee. They claim they do not keep items in stock, yet we called one day to order and was told we could pick up the next day. Sound like they had in stock to me. Also we ordered pipe at 48" lengths and when we picked up we got different size, 48, 36, 24 which if we had used would have caused us to have additional joint straps at additional expense.
