I have been connected with this practice for 10-15 years (unwillingly) and often I have asked about staff turnover. The comments heard over and over is that the doctors are very hard to get along with. The staff members are rude at best but I suppose working in a practice that consistently overbooks will wear on the staff--still, no excuse. The practice hours change regularly. ALWAYS call ahead if you should need to pick up a rx or be seen urgently. And keep in mind that they take 30-60 days off each year to travel to India. You are stuck with PA's or NP's. This is a practice devoted primarily to the elderly. I have seen countless times when patients have waited for over an hour to be seen. They are exhausted by this time and once they are finally taken back to the observation areas, they are paraded around to different areas for urine tests, weigh-ins, lab tests and if you are lucky, you are seated in one of their dirty rooms to wait some more for the doctor to come in. Good luck getting your chief complaint out as they are always "on to the next". I challenge anyone to go in and come out with the proper treatment plan/diagnosis BUT I guarantee you that you will be required to come back in 3-4 weeks like clockwork so they can again bill Medicare. You are merely a number to these doctors and the most absurd thing about their bursting at the seams practice is that they state on all web pages that they are "accepting new patients"! Tuesday my wife was scheduled for an appointment at 4pm with her primary care doctor at Scott and…read moreWhite South Clear Creek in Killeen. She received a phone call early in the day informing her that her appointment had been moved to noon, which caused her to reschedule all her business appointments for that day as she had already been stressing about getting her results from the doctor and did not want to delay it any further. Upon arrival she was checked in by Alex the receptionist and when called up to do her triage and vitals, the receptionist called her back to the front to inform her there was an issue with her insurance and she assured the receptionist that her insurance was up to date. The receptionist insisted it was not up to date and became very nasty in her tone and body language. My wife told her I can not afford to miss this appointment or wait any longer for my results, and even offered to pay the cost of the appointment to ensure that she got seen before the doctor left for the day at 12:30. The receptionist continued to be nasty saying I can't do that and that's not how that works. My wife called insurance and verified that she was covered and by the time she got off phone and showed the receptionist proof, the receptionist refused to allow her to proceed with appointment because her appointment time had passed. My wife pointed out that she had checked in on time and the receptionist argued that she had not checked her in yet. My wife pointed out that she had already done her vitals and triage, how does this happen if I'm not checked in? She insisted she was not checked in and refused to allow her to see doctor. My wife asked her to inform the doctor why she was unable to be seen and the receptionist said I'm not doing that right now. She asked to speak to a supervisor and the girl got up went and had a conversation with a co-worker joking and laughing and talking about my wife, then walked around for a while and finally comes back and says supervisor can't see you now and then asked security to come to her. She told security the issue and security was like what do you want me to do about it and Alex gave no answer. Before leaving, my wife asked the supervisor if he could let provider know why she was unable to see her and the security guard said no problem and immediately sent a text. My wife did say to the receptionist as she left was that so fucking hard? Further the next available appointment is in January when my wife has already waited months for this appointment. The waiting on her results already had her anxiety through the roof, and this situation multiplied to the point that she had a panic attack, her anxiety and heart rate were so elevated. These people at Scott and White are so mean and nasty and don't care about their patients and forget that their job is to help people not compound the stress the patient is already dealing with. You never know what people are dealing with and what might be their breaking point especially when you are working in the health industry where you are supposed to support people in a time of need not add to their stress. This behavior is completely unacceptable. Additionally my wife spoke to Jordan the manager today and she completely supported the receptionist Alex's behavior and refused to acknowledge any poor behavior on her part. She even went so far as to say that Alex said my wife was yelling the entire time and being disrespectful, which was not true. She only made the one comment as she left after dealing with the stress and disrespectful behavior of Alex. This has been a trend with Scott and White and is obviously the culture of the company.
