Kristy is a great bartender here at ringside…read more @sassysocaligrl28 shealways makes sure to acknowledge everyone at the bar and get everyone taken care of. While understaffed I have to start by saying that some of the other reviews just aren't factual and don't explain the full situation at times. Some nights there just isnt enough coverage nights like last friday where there was 50 customers in the bar and Krisrty was literally the only bartender on the floor (one of only two total). She was covering the entire bar by herself -- serving drinks, taking orders, running tabs -- and still doing her absolute best to take care of everyone. Including the birthday party that came in. People need to stop using this platform to tear down hardworking people who are clearly doing everything they can in tough situations. Every customer service business has days where they're short-staffed due to call-outs, sickness, or family emergencies. That's real life. What matters is how the staff handles it -- and she handled it with professionalism, hustle, and a great attitude. I watched her stay calm, keep things moving, and make sure everyone was acknowledged. No one was ignored. She worked nonstop. On top of that, the entire team stepped up. I even saw kitchen staff come out and deliver food orders to help keep things flowing. That says a lot about the kind of team this place has. I've been to Ringside Bar multiple times, and they consistently go above and beyond to take care of their customers and make sure things are done right. One tough night due to being understaffed doesn't define a business -- how they show up during that tough night does. Huge respect to that bartender and the entire team. Hardworking people deserve recognition, not criticism, when they're doing everything they can. Let's make sure that we are showing love to literally a bar that was built to be a spot for the local community great food, drinks and atmosphere.

Ordered the Philly cheese steak and it was crazy salty. Had to flag down the waitress a few times, even though there were only 6 people in there. Came for happy hour and got over charged. Love the decor, great music, just wouldn't recommend it to anyone. You wont get the service you deserve.

What a difference since the last I was at this campground/boat launch area (now called LP for Launch Pointe). This area now lifts up our city. So glad there is a lake view restaurant alternative to Jack's BBQ. The wait time was a little long due to just one server but worth it. She was great! My wife had the The "JT" Lite and fries, I kept it simple by ordering The Anchor Dog. The Brussel sprouts were scrumptious. Divine day outside on the patio. There are still improvements being made. While we were there, the asphalt was being prepped for resurfacing. I will return, hopefully the brisket will be back.

I personally strongly dislike doing that, and prefer for vegan options to be clearly labeled. I do not like asking servers (who often are not careful with this) to alter pre existing menu items to make them vegan. We ended up getting two baskets of fries and some beers. It actually was a nice place to chill but it was expensive, maybe $45. I hope in the future they will make an option specifically for vegans that requires no modifications. Also, taking ingredients off of menu items usually decreases their quality, and not the price. It would be nice to know the business had considered the different types of customers they might have and actually catered to them, instead of making them feel like they have to do homework to order food that takes effort. Fries and beers are maybe the easiest things to prepare for a cook and I don't think it's a quality vegan option. It's better for customers not to alter menu items as well. Edit: After posting my original 2 star review the business owner privately messaged me to go back and forth with me telling me I was a fool for my opinion. Will not be returning and don't believe he is expressing himself professionally on his Yelp page.

Since re-opening in their new location several years ago, I never ate there again (work schedule) though my wife and sons would take our out of town family to eat here often. This past Saturday, I was craving some really tasty pupusas and suggested to my wife we have an early dinner here before heading to Balboa Park-San Diego for an evening concert. We arrived around 1530 hours and honestly I was expecting that El Comal would be in that quiet period from just finishing their lunch service and prepping for their Saturday night dinner service. I was so wrong. The parking lot was full and when we walked in the place was full of happy customers. We were warmly greeted by a friendly hostess at the entrance desk who advised us there would be an approximate 10 minute wait for a table. We agreed and waited hungrily. We were soon seated and our server Brandon quickly took our beverage order: a frozen strawberry margarita ($11.00) and a soda (4.00) for me. We looked over all of the tempting items El Comal's menu offered but we finally settled on: 1-Taco Salad w/meat ($16.00); 1-#12 Combo (1-Chicken Enchilada & 1-Chile Relleno) $17.00; 2-Spinach & Cheese Pupusas $6.00 each ($12.00) Pre-Tax/Tip Sub-Total: $60.00 My wife tried her margarita: just by her initial expression, I could tell that El Comal's bartender was not stingy with the booze. Her cocktail was very tempting, and I will definitely have to order one the next time I'm here and not driving. One thing I observed is soda refills were never offered. A complimentary small basket of fried tortilla chips and a kinda watery, mild salsa was brought to our table. Despite the watery salsa, it still had nice flavor to it. Just wish it had a little more body to it. Soon our entrees arrived excep tfor the pupusas. I'm thinking to myself,"That's ok, I'll polish off my combo plate and then scarf down one of the pupusas, because that combo plate won't fill me up. My wife's taco salad was huge and very generous with all the fixings that went inside the salad. My cheese enchilada and chile relleno were very tasty. The accompanying refried beans and rice were equally good and I joined the clean plate club that afternoon. While the amount of food of the combo plate looks kind of small, it wasn't. Once I finished the combo plate, I was pretty full by tiem the pupusas arrived from the kitchen. I wanted to have a small taste so I ended up cutting one of the pupusas into quarters and my wife and I each savored one quarter. My wife has a cousin who dated a Salvadorean. She told us the pupusas and cabbage slaw here reminded her of her exe's grandmother who would offer "J" homemade pupusas with slaw which she always greatly enjoyed. We really appreciated Brandon's attention to detail whe he brought us a couple of to-go containers: he thoughtfully provided a small bag of that wonderful cabbage slaw and a small container of the sauce, both used for eating with the pupusas. I'm glad to see El Comal rose from the ashes and continue to present great service, hospitality coupled with great tastng food and cocktails in their present location. I promise to eat here more often moving forward.

There were so many great hiding spots... until someone found just the right angle to tag you..haha! After that, we made our way to Escapology Escape Rooms for our reservation. The staff was kind and accommodating, the lobby was beautiful, very comfortable and inviting. The escape room itself was awesome. We played Mansion Murder. The presentation was the best I've experienced so far. It was challenging and super fun. We'll definitely be back to try another room and enjoy another great time. Good stuff!

Good luck with that. There's little to no chance of that happening. It's a high energy place. Noisy, hectic, bustling, and it starts before you even get into the building. P n P shares its parking lot with another successful business, a coffee joint. Trying to find parking will be your first challenge. Dutch Brothers Coffee attempts to hijack a drive lane, by putting cones across it, in order route traffic into its take-out lines. Those poor cones, LoL. More than one vehicle has found their way over them. After you crunch a couple, you still have to slot your car somewhere. Go wide and walk. Inside, you'll meet your next hurdle. Trying to think! Expect a decibel level increase. Yep, it's loud. Between the bowling lanes, arcade, and offspring letting loose, the cacophony will move you. Now, will it move you out the door, or deeper into the bowels. Of course you'll go deeper. You're a glutton for this type of punishment. That's why you came in the first place, right? We attended a bowling party. It was in a private room with plenty of lanes, seating and food. Fantastic for the purpose. If you're thirsty, no problem. Through the adjoining door you'll find yourself in the bar. Expect to pay up for this convince. Pins n Pockets, when it comes to adult beverages, should be named, Pick yur Pockets. Outrageous drink prices! But if you drink before you come, you can get by. You're going to have fun. Quick Tip: Earplugs, and if you bring the kids, keep an eye on them.
