Owner was all over the place making sure everyone was enjoying it. Very close to Turkey Run State park and several major lakes. Bathhouse was always clean. When you order fire wood, they deliver it right to your camp site!! They are very strict about quiet hours so it's very peaceful at night unlike the state campground where people come and go all hours of the night and get loud. Our family will go back again no doubt!! Thanks for the memorable Father's Day weekend.

They provide great recommendations if you're unfamiliar with the area & have a nice little camp store. They will deliver firewood to you & allow you to borrow basketballs, volleyballs, & corn hole for no charge! Also, they aren't very strict on the parking, as we had 4 cars and it was no problem at all to park the extra in their overflow parking lot. The cabin was super clean, the AC worked great, and the beds were way more comfy than we expected for a campsite. There's a nice picnic table & a fire pit and areas that are shaded. The bathhouse is a bathhouse, so you can't expect much -- but it was one of the cleanest I've been in. It has a heavy door to the front so there aren't many bugs that can get in!

Just figured that I would just find myself a shuttle service, although I have been kayaking already for about a month or so, I didn't know that they have a season for it and I was about a week to early. No problem I just wasn't able to go kayaking today but I will be back definitely, I'll just have to do better next time. I'm used to self shuttling. Got some cool souvenirs from the gift shop.

Hallelujah! TR Campground was completely full the weekend we visited. At times I felt that maybe we were a little too close to our neighbors, especially the neighbors with 8+ guests. Our site did have some unsavory things leftover from the previous guests(s) (dirty bandaids, dog poop, shoes, a canoe paddle), so the campground really does leave it up to the guests to cleanup after themselves. We were near located near the bathhouse, which was only good for toilets. The Men's and Women's showers were out of order, so I'm not sure what the tent campers did all weekend--I find this to be the most unsavory part of camping. The campground is within walking distance of Turkey Run State Park's Trail 7, which we appreciated. This was an incredibly hoppin' place, so I'd have to recommend it. I'd even recommend visiting during the week so you don't have to deal with as much traffic. The power along State Rd. 42 did go out for a period of time on Saturday afternoon, so that impacted electricity at the campground. Luckily this didn't happen on a super hot day. They have a suggestion box located near the exit of the campground which I should have used. This seems like common sense because they're so pet-friendly, but 20 or so signs saying, "please clean up after your pet" would be nice. Yes, this is outdoor living, but other people don't need to be stepping in your dog's $#!&. I recommend Turkey Run Campground, but you won't catch me camping again anytime soon. :)

Breakfast in the morning was great, my only criticism would be that they should tell the guests what time breakfast is so its not cold when they get down there. Thomas and Janet were very accommodating and told us all their favorite covered bridges and cute things to do in town while we were there. Conveniently located to the downtown area. Can't say enough good things about this place. If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely be staying with Janet and Thomas. PS - we are a multi-racial couple and going to small towns in Southern/Central Indiana can sometimes be a concern for us. We had absolutely no problems staying here.

It's rare to find accommodations in Parke county during the festival with only 2 weeks notice, so I was excited when this new listing popped up. What started as a convenient place to stay turned into one of the highlights of our trip! The house was originally built in 1829 and has been completely renovated and restored by the owner Tammy. She even made a photo book that documents before, during, and after the renovation process- I definitely exclaimed "wow" more than once while paging through. The house itself was sparkling clean and just a delight to spend a night in. There are two guest rooms upstairs- each with their own bathroom for privacy- and also a common area for guests with coffee and beverages, snacks, breakfast bars, games, TV/DVD player/fire stick etc etc. The B and B is located in the small town of Montezuma, IN- there is a lot of history in the area, and you'll also find yourself in the covered bridge capital of the world! The town was very quiet- both my mom and I slept 9 HOURS STRAIGHT, which is some kind of record for the both of us, especially my mom who is a light sleeper. The bed was super comfortable to boot. In the morning Tammy prepared a delicious breakfast and was happy to accommodate dietary restrictions. Tammy and her friends who joined us for breakfast were a lot of fun to chat with, and gave my mom and I all kinds of tips for local sights and things to do. I'd recommend this historic B and B for work travel, couples, girls trips, or anyone who wants to experience this beautiful slice of Indiana! Seriously, if your travels bring you to Parke or Vermillion county then look no further for a place to stay!
