This has been the best experience I have ever had at a dentist office. It didn't hurt and they were mindful of my time. Thanks!

Obviously choosing your dentist on yelp would not be my first choice. But for people who are new…read moreto Charlotte and do not have a friend to give them a recommendation, this is for you. Actually, this is for really for parents that have a tongue tied or lip tied child. My son was born with both and after much research, I discovered a renowned doctor that specializes in this condition. I wrote to him asking him for his expertise and he sent me to Dr. McMurtry for a frenectomy. Dr. McMurtry is a full service family dentist, servicing adults and children and has special training in laser dentistry. His practice extends beyond teeth cleaning and fixing cavities to practicing frenectomies on infants, children and adults. The office is modern, immaculately clean and filled with a wonderful friendly staff. Robin at the desk, is a pleasure to deal with and will accommodate you to the best of her ability. Dr. McMurtry is a passionate, straight forward family man and that shines through into his professional practice. He took his time with me to explain everything concerning my infant son's tongue tie and had us back in two weeks to observe our progress. I highly recommend this practice and feel so blessed that I was referred to it.

He was factual, personable and caring of our infant that was there for assessing ties. Using the most up to date process, the tie release was thorough, timely, and baby was not in hysterics after done. The staff were all helpful, kind, and pleasant. We were not rushed away and had a follow up appt that was very accommodating for us.

My experience started at Belmont Dental Associates where they stated I needed a root canal on my…read moremain chewing tooth (#3) and said they could do it the next day that would continue with a build up, and a crown. I scheduled it, and when I got home the dental assistant called and stated that the dentist didn't feel comfortable doing this procedure and that I should contact an oral surgeon to do the root canal and come back for the build up and crown. Yeah they got fired on the spot. That brings me to Oak Ridge... I had called numerous dentists spanning an area of 15 square miles, and everyone was either booked 4 weeks out, or wanted me to come in to look and see if they could do the procedure. I finally contacted Oak Ridge and they said that doctor Olsen would be able to do it the very next day, and that he had 30 years experience. Not only was it a speedy process from checking in to checking out, but the doc was confident, knowledgeable, and compassionate. If I felt pain he could tell and would try and work around it, making it a nearly painless procedure. I was also impressed with the staff from the assistant to billing. I know not everyone has good experiences with a dentist, but this is my first pleasant so far.

I've been saving this until the final crown was superglued in place. You couldn't pay me to come…read moreback here for care that wasn't limited to glueing something on anyway though, so here's a full review of Central Dental in CLT. Here's a PRO tip: If your dentist looks at your mouth when you first start going there for check-ups, and they mutter "must be the infection" as the reason that your front teeth feel no current pain, and then NEVER mention an infection again, run. If you go to that SAME dentist months later specifically for sharp pain in the back teeth, and more X-rays fail to detect anything, and her best guess is that the tooth is just sensitive, run. If you go back in for a regular cleaning months after that, and the X-rays still fail to completely detect a now 97% NECROTIC tooth, RUN. If you haven't run yet, don't take her advice and go to her special Ohio-study-group--sister for endodontic treatment. Let's focus on May 12th at Central Dental for a moment. If your dentist can't be on time at 7am for appointments that HER OFFICE scheduled, and then gets an attitude with you and the two other women in the office for wondering why no one has appeared or even said hello at 7am, run. I know it isn't the office staff, sweetheart. It's clearly you flying into the parking lot LATE at almost every appointment. How dare I expect you to be present and ready to perform basic dental services for my appointment START TIME. You know how you could prevent that in the future (since you can't be on-time) just have someone say "hey ladies, we'll be right with you, the meeting is running long." That's it. Solved it for you. You don't have to charge upfront like Xena the Princess Warrior because a few of your patients said "Hello!". Also, I didn't need a timeout while the assistant was f-ing around. You can leave the lights on, we're all adults here. So yeah, RUN. In fact, run to First Dental of Huntersville. They might leave you sitting in the chair for 30 minutes but at least their dentist can catch more than cold.
