I had such a fun time at the Intentional Candle Making class at Moore Than Rocks in Kent/Auburn with my family. I think the value was fair for the experience but would have loved it if the candle was larger. Still, it's a medium size candle and real crystals and other adornments were included in the price. Hallie, the instructor, was wonderful and made the class feel welcoming and easy to follow. It was great getting to know the other students too, and doing manifestation work as a group. I made a eucalyptus-scented candle and loved that we got to choose and decorate our own crystal adornments, dried flowers, and shells. Such a creative, relaxing experience. They also offer other classes like sound baths, somatic dance, etc. Highly recommend if you're looking for something fun and unique to do! read more

I stopped by this shop, entirely impulsively, after I drove by on my way to Seattle. I told my eldest son I'd only be in for a moment; it was a lie!!! The shop was way bigger than it appeared from the outside and there was sooo much to see and feel. I'd lost my favorite stone, I took with me everywhere (a beautiful of hematite), over a year ago and I've been looking for a replacement ever since, to no avail. They had a huge selection and I found a piece that looked and felt almost identical to the one I'd lost. The two ladies working were sweet and very helpful. They have an enormous range of rocks and minerals, sculptures, jewelry, and anything else rock related (carving kits, rock tumblers, rock salt lamps, etc). The staff is really helpful and friendly. My best friend took me here after I had been going thru some seriously life changing events, she wanted to get me some more crystals for my home and this store did not disappoint! When you arrive you can grab a small basket while you shop around. They have literally everything and anything you could possibly need, alongside little cards explaining what each crystal, rock, or stone does. You definitely have to go visit this place! The vibe and the energy in here is so peaceful, welcoming, and calm. The young lady who works at the counter, not sure of her name, but make sure to address every customer by saying hello and welcoming you into the store. The staff here is really down to earth and it's quite obvious they buy items from the store themselves From the beaded bracelets and some of the handmade jewelry, they advertise on their own bodies. The young man that was acting as a cashier hat on quite a few cool bracelets that were made from some sort of rock or crystal, as well as some really cool, looking rings. They've got everything from dream catchers to amazing stones. Crystals beaded, bracelets, large rocks that have been cut open and are on display oils, incense you name it it's in here. The owner is very friendly really down to earth and gave me the story on how she came to open her business. She's ordered a bundle of my favorite sage, incense, and held them for me. they've got some really cool large scale crystals that look like they just came from a mountain side that are absolutely beautiful. The one thing I really enjoy is that a lot of the items there, the words, the various stones they have an explanation of what the item is traditionally used for, and some of its healing properties. Just a really cool place you have to visit this place I love to go down and buy the white sage incense, as well as the sage incense in the color, dark blue or black maybe I'm not sure. This place smells like heaven. They've got a bunch of different varieties of incense on in the back. I believe they're now hosting some kind of classes as well. They've got beautiful dream catchers. They've got beautiful healing stones. They've got tubs full of rocks. Just really cool things all over the place to explore. Even if you don't go buy anything just go visit and look around and enjoy the staff and the items are not really expensive. I'm really glad they put something like this near my home, because I usually go to earth down at the south center mall and they tend to be a Moore on the expensive side. I spent about $3.30 and I end up with a bunch of incense, which I believe are 15 for one dollar or $.10 apiece. I believe they have some homemade soaps and other homemade items that I imagine they probably buy from small business owners or maybe people who are making these items homemade, don't quote me on that. I'm not sure, but they've got a ton of cool stuff. Make sure you go to visit. The last trip I bought this really cool incense holder but I found the incense. Don't really burn well on the inside of it but it's still a nice decorator piece. read more

One of my go to rock shops . My entire family can be feeling down in the dumps and then be like let's go to Moore than rocks and off wer go . Seriously set a budget or go with an intent ...i have gone just to window shop and left with a sound bath ...such awesomeness. Some of the staff do follow you , or ask you what your looking for or are extra cheerful but I think it's just their own personality ...way better than a down in the dumps damper employee each one of them are special and beautiful humans and if you are open and accepting of others you'll find that it's a great little shop, if I'm not really looking to purchase I tell them I'm just perusing and catching vibes ...normally that's not the case , I'm usually shut up and take my money ...lol. Some other things that I also like about this shop is they have other people from the community that have talents and showcase the work I think on the weekends, the staff are knowledgeable or will try to find out if they are unsure. I miss some of the classes and wish that besides the live shows they would add vitual sound therapy nights . Every year on my birthday I go to a gemstone store and buy something special. This year I found Moore than rocks. I've never been here before but the moment I walked in the door I knew it was a great choice! They have an unique selection of gemstones. The store is organized by categories of all different types: amethyst, fluorite, rose quartz, citrine, calcite, onyx, anything you can think of really. I was surprised by the unique selection and the spheres really caught my eye. After browsing for almost an hour (I could spend all day here) I bought a pair of amethyst earrings and a quartz crystal lamp from Brazil. The staff was nice and helpful, and they let me plug in a couple of lamps before a decided to buy the quartz one. I'm excited to go back again! read more

This place for me was just OK. -They have an average selection of goods...they have your basic crystals and rocks that a lot of many stores have. It may have just been the day that I came in but they have very limited quantities of some crystals-So if you are looking for something very particular you may want to call first. -It is a mixed bag size-wise, quality-wise and price-wise...I found chiastolite which were some of the nicest specimens that I have seen in a while-the price was cheaper than I had seen but they only had about10 to choose from. Then there was blue lace agate/tigers eye that were really small and the quality was so so and the price was a bit high for the quality and size. -They are well organized (when they didn't have about 50 kids come through and just throw crystals int random bins). *This is not their fault but just as a side note...I saw so many children putting the smaller crystals into their noses and their mouths and then putting the crystals back into the bins...cleanse/clean your crystals after you get them home. The staff was a bit strange. At first I felt like someone was always following me (I felt I was being watched for shoplifting)-I had no intentions of shoplifting and the last time I stole something at a store I was 4 years old and I stole 3 grapes while my mum was shopping. I also asked a young lady to open a case for me and I asked a few questions to a young lady that didn't seem to know much information and seemed put out that I was asking to see something. Then upon checkout the woman wanted to chat it up with me, I honestly wasn't in the mood (after being followed around the store-I honestly didn't feel so warm and fuzzy) and I answered her politely but with very short answers and she continued to ask me questions and make comments about all the items that I purchased that day (generally after the short answers a sales person usually gets the vibe you may not want to talk especially after I had been followed around the whole store). It is a nice store-evidently good for kids but some of the experiences in the store do not warrant a trip back. read more

I love this place! Pretty sure it used to be Black Market Minerals at SuperMall, but they've moved to downtown Kent. All of the employees here are super chill and don't push you to buy anything - which I love... We all know that that shit gets annoying. They have a great variety of stones, decor, necklaces/bracelets, etc. They also have candles and soaps, all of which smell AMAZING. All in all this place is great for what it offers - I wouldn't come here just to look around really, just when I'm in the market for something (if that makes sense). If this place had a dog park attached to it, then I'd probably say that I've found heaven. I fell in love with the atmosphere, staff, selection, and prices right away. It's refreshing to walk into a store and feel like the employees actually care about you and your interests, instead of just getting through their work day.
