Both the wife and I got brisket plates that come with two sides. She got lean and I got fat and both were great. We both got potato salad and Mac and cheese. The sides were great too. I'm picky about potato salad and this is just like my wife makes. Really good. The Mac and cheese was just right. I really can't say enough when you can find someone who just fixes it with getting creative and adding all kinds of stuff. The service was great. A husband and wife team own and make really great BBQ. If you are in the area or close it's worth stopping by. Highly recommended. Too bad we are not here another day :(

They had a nice flavor, but were much denser and chewier than I expected. The bigger issue was the wait for our entrees. With the restaurant not appearing particularly busy, nearly 50 minutes for fried chicken and jerk chicken felt excessive. The good news? The chicken absolutely delivered! Both the fried chicken and the jerk chicken were packed with flavor and easily stole the show. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, while the jerk had a wonderful balance of seasoning and spice. Those dishes alone made the meal worthwhile. Unfortunately, my mashed potatoes arrived warm instead of hot. After such a long wait, I was hoping everything would come out piping hot, and that side just missed the mark. Cole slaw was fresh but pretty boring in the flavor department. I really wanted this to be the five-star experience that so many others have had. While this visit didn't quite live up to the hype, the quality of the chicken showed why Pineapple Eddie's has earned such a loyal following. Waitress and host checked and came back and said....."Yes it's a NY Strip....it must just have been the way our butcher cut it." Well, if that's the way he cuts a NY Strip you need a new butcher. But it was so thin a cut.....it didn't have time to develp a good char or sear and the result was the steak cooled quickly, was not as flavorful and in fact tasted a bit mushy. Ate about half of it. Manager was nice enough to give a break on the bill (although I did not ask for it.) I have dined here I think 4 different times and this was my first mediocre or bad meal. Hope they get back to serving a properly cut and thick NY Strip.....if not.....I won't return as what I was served tonight was not up to their standards or mine.
