Both were great and we received excellent service which can be hard to find sometimes. Especially around the lake. Always a great experience. Traveler who was unaware it wasn't as a family friendly place. When we arrived with minor children a large sign greeted us of no minors. I went in to ask if that meant the patio as well. I was rudely informed that it meant everything and I was asked to remove myself and my family from their premises (kids were outside, never set foot inside). I understand it's their rules but just based on the attitude I received I wouldn't recommend anyone subject themselves to pay for that kind of treatment. Other places don't have their view but they have decency and kindness. You'll miss nothing by avoiding them. read more

They were busy busy! Service was friendly and informative. Told us up front the wait would be big for good orders as 3 poker runs descended upon the establishment just before we arrived. Went there last week for the first time and it was amazing. Food was great great drinks and the band that was playing was amazing.

Went to have lunch on the patio Monday with our 33 year old daughter only to have a 21 year old tell us we can't eat there without Id's. We would have been their only table at that time. Whether by boat or car it is an effort to get there and not be welcomed. Won't go back and encourage others to support owners who appreciate your business. This is a group of very rude people. We had hoped the new owner would improve things. read more

We love coming to Mooneys but yesterday we had a terrible experience with a waitress who had an awful attitude at the bar. One of our friends, who is in her 30s, forgot her ID on accident. She was the only one out of our large group to forget her ID and they basically told us we needed to leave because of that. Just terrible customer service and I hope it improves in the future read more

Stopped in for dinner. Ordered guacamole & chips for appetizer was good & fresh not frozen like you get at some restaurants. Split a burger with husband & was excellent cooked to perfection. Very well seasoned. Angus burger was great choice. French fries are made fresh from potatoes again not a frozen product, Great atmosphere & friendly staff. We finally drove the 28 miles down the lake to try Mooneys on South Grand. The lake was like glass so the trip was really nice. Our drinks were served quick and the Margaritas were definitely top shelf. We ordered aRuben and a Patty Melt. Both sandwiches were sooo good. Everything we had heard about their food was correct. Probably the best on the water. Also the guest docks have just been rebuilt. Well done. We will definitely make the trek back. read more

Mooney's Sunset Bar & Grill is consistently great. The food is delicious, and their bacon cheese burger baskets w/fries is the best on the lake. We frequently run our boat from Grove to the dam just for the good food and and great atmosphere at Mooney's. The prices are reasonable, the servings are large, the drinks are cold, plus they have a brand new kitchen... what more could a person ask for?.....how about consistently great and friendly service, and they have that in-spades- unlike the cookie cutter franchises with their constant staff turnover, Mooney's keeps their great employees and you can always depend upon a nice greeting and quick service. The waterfront view is wonderful, and Mooney's has easy boat access with restaurant dedicated docks. read more

I live in the area and unless things have changed, (within the last month) this is one nasty place to eat. If you don't believe me, go look at the grill and refrigeration equipment. I don't think the health inspector can find the place. If he ever did, he would burn the place down and make them start over. It also allow's smoking so I try not to go there. It's not very much fun in a small bar with 30 people smoking and 2 people not. read more
