My birthday was coming up and seemed like the perfect opportunity for this idea, so I contacted Feels Like Home Farm to set up a private "snuggle session" for six people. I expected to meet the baby goats, pet some alpacas, and be on our way, but the experience was so much more than that! Marcus (one of the owners) gave our group a full tour of the farm and told us so many interesting things about the animals there. Marcus is a great tour guide and really made the experience for us (and has great travel tips). We all walked away knowing a lot more about the animals on the farm and what taking care of them entails. While I was there, I didn't think about law school once! We all had plenty of opportunities to hold the baby goats, which were even more adorable than I imagined they would be. We also fed the alpacas and met a lot of other animals (adult goats, guard dogs, guard geese, and various cats). If you love animals but cannot have your own farm, or if you are up for a unique experience in the Cleveland area, I highly suggest booking a tour and snuggle session at Feels Like Home Farms! I will be back for goat yoga :)

I'm a huge adventure junkie and....this goat yoga party was one of my favorite adventures to date....This farm is literally a utopia... Feels Like Home Farm is AMAZING for: a) Private Parties - Reasonably priced and SO MUCH FREAKING FUN! Also so unique - you're never going to have another party like this! b) Goat Yoga Events - they run community yoga classes on a somewhat-regular basis throughout the year (schedule is on the farm's website!) and they're a great way to get out and try something new with friends. Their instructor, Deanna Black, is an excellent teacher and make the class very unique. I've been doing yoga for years and I'm kind-of a yoga snob....and I freaking love Deanna. Great way to support a local farm! If I could give Alissa (and her family), Deanna, the farm, the goats, the class, and the entire experience 1,000,000,000 stars, I would. I'll call out a couple things, although the list of positives is far too long to write: 1) The farm: Is STUNNING. LOTS of land and very peaceful. They have ~50 goats, primarily 4 different breeds. All are happy, healthy, ADORABLE, and super friendly. They also have 2 awesome dogs, a CUTE LITTLE PIG named Dottie (omg!), and happy ducks waddling around. Their neighbors let us meet their CRAZY-COOL mini donkeys, cows, and pigs! I honestly never wanted to leave. Alissa and her husband took us on a tour of the farm and taught us all about their animals!! It was AWESOME! 2) The people: Alissa, her husband, and her daughters were unbelievably passionate about what they do at the farm, loving towards their animals, and so excited to share their farm with us. Alissa was INCREDIBLY responsive to all of my requests, and personalized literally EVERY little thing about the party. She was very creative, and thought of ideas I NEVER would have (like bringing in a local food truck!). I interact with a lot of business owners through Yelp, and Alissa has been by far the most fun and passionate one yet. 3) The Yoga: If you want a good workout, Deanna's class is great. She is also EXCELLENT at leading guided meditations. I was so relaxed and present by the end of class. Deanna is also AWESOME at incorporating acro-yoga into her classes. We did some CRAZY moves I've never done before (see my pictures!) 4) Convenient location - The farm is only about 25 - 30 minutes from Ohio City and an easy drive. We had no issues with parking at all. HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for making this such an unbelievably unique experience that none of us will forget!

Yes, of course the prices are much higher than in the supermarket, but consider that the animals are raised properly and the food is minimally processed and local . in other words, there's no chance of something weird being done to it along the assembly line, or feedlot, and the animals being in questionable health because of it, like with the enormous commercial farms that have the big brand names.(at the care that they provide the livestock is the minimum possible to turn the most profit.) Never mind, what's healthy for the consumer! This farm is raising food that tasted like food used to do when I was growing up 40 years ago . Beef tastes rich and beefy . The other meat is similarly good flavor like it is supposed to be, and you know you're not ingesting chemicals without knowing it or something that was irradiated. Eggs are completely different from the stuff you get in the supermarket unless you have been buying pasture raised organic eggs from there. If you are then there's no buying them from here you know for a fact they were local and are very fresh. Six dollars a dozen is worthwhile for food that is actually good tasting and nutritious. And you know it was not in the refrigerator for a month. It's a case of you get what you pay for so I have no complaint about the prices. They are reasonable considering everything you have to do to raise good food properly. And what good is Food if you don't enjoy it and it doesn't nourish you.? I don't think that's a wise use of money. Plus supporting your local business.

We went with a lovely balsam fir. They're pricier, but smell so delightful once inside the home. They even had some pie pumpkins for sale. Asked the boys if they wanted me to make pie and the family were willing to just give us a pumpkin. Also offered cookies and hot cocoa. We were full from our great lunch down the road at Tinkers Creek Tavern, so all we left with was a tree. Great combo, though. If we had more time, we would have started with a hike.

Still a 5-star, family-run farm, but worth an update!…read more For the past two years we've been cutting our own trees here at Swan Farm. This year, since Thanksgiving was so late in the month, we didn't get here quite in time to cut our own. However--we did purchase a pre-cut Scotch Pine that was huge and perfect, for only $48. Their pre-cut trees are brought in from another Ohio farm, and haven't been sitting around since August. Ours was cut maybe a week before we purchased it, not even. Even though picking out and cutting down your own tree is a special treat, snagging one of these pre-cut trees didn't take away from the wonderful experience and customer service. The gal outside walked us over to the Scotch Pines and even helped us measure the tree to make sure it would fit in our house. Once we did pick it out, we were sent inside while they safely secured this huge tree to our car. This is the kind of service I love! Inside, I'm assuming the owner of the farm checked us out--and asked us if we'd been there before. He's always so warm, welcoming and talkative! The little guy was able to warm up with a cup of hot cocoa and a candy cane (free inside!), so he was happy! My favorite tree farm in CLE+!!

Peaceful Motorcycle-Friendly Getaway!…read more Booking through the Hipcamp app was super easy--I picked the exact campsite I wanted without any hassle. I was traveling by motorcycle and ended up arriving late at night, so I messaged the hosts ahead of time. They quickly let me know that late arrivals were no problem and that check-in was completely self-serve, which made things simple. Finding my spot was easy once I arrived. I stayed at Campsite #4, conveniently close to the parking area, which made unloading and reloading my bike a breeze. The little shack at the site was awesome! It even had a tarp you can unroll and secure over the doorway for a bit of privacy when you turn in for the night. The latrine was located near the check-in area, and the whole property had a calm, quiet vibe. There were other campers around, but it honestly felt like I had the place to myself. It's nothing like those packed chain campgrounds with big RVs and noisy crowds--this spot was peaceful, rustic, and relaxing. You can't beat the pride note, excellent value! I'll definitely be coming back for another stay on my next ride through the area!

Cute little place that I never really knew existed!…read more My husband and I came here in mid-October to pick some pumpkins and they still had a decent selection. Not many of the green variety but lots of orange and white ones. Prices seemed a little high ($8-9 for an average-sized one, $10-$14 for the large ones, $6-7 for smaller ones). They also had a nice selection of gourds ($1 each), and other decorative or pie pumpkins ($4). Not bad individually, but if you're looking to buy enough for a family or front yard display, it can add up quickly. We picked out 4 and paid $28. In addition to pumpkins, they had a variety of fall activities including a small corn maze, hay rides, and scavenger hunt ($4/ticket for each, I think). We don't have kids so I can't speak to it from that perspective. We went on a gray, drizzly Sunday afternoon so it wasn't very crowded. Appreciated that they require masks throughout the property, though out on the scavenger hunt trails people weren't always abiding.

Although it is fun, it is hard to wrestle the bucket back when you're trying to drive on to the next animals. These animal are big and they know that if your car window is up, they will walk on. If your window is down, they will stick their entire head in the window. They have over 500 animals including zebras, giraffes, buffalo, deer, pigs, llamas, and even have the very cute Scotch Highland cattle. The drive through part is not short and you have to drive slow because of the animals. It is worth the money. Fair warning, your car will get dirty. There is a farmhouse on the premises where they sell some desserts. We went during the fall and they had a small pumpkin patch and a stack of hay bales to climb on. We also had a nice little meal from their food tent. We will be back!

The ride starts at a barn and they lead you through the animal area. Plenty of food is given to feed the animals. You make stops along the way to feed the animals from the wagon. Afterwards you can tour an Amish house, barns and other areas of the farm. Inside the house you get a delicious cookie. Educational and fun to explore. Lots of animals to see as well. They have a playground and picnic area as well. So bring some food and spend the day.
