We had some time to kill during our trip, so I booked a time for my group to come in. It is a pretty small spot, but it is well thought out "gallery" to take fun or silly photos with your group (or date). It's like different backdrops for you to take your own photos. Plan to spend at least 30-45 minutes, so that you are not in a rush. You'll want to try different poses and angles for each space/scene/exhibit. My fave was probably the anti-gravity room, the optical illusion space (the one where each side makes a person look super big/tall and the other side shrinks the person, like Alice in Wonderland). Don't miss the mirrored room towards the back. Reservations are a must, at least currently, they don't take walk ins.

Very helpful, courteous and professional. A perfect venue for an unforgettable show. The place is so well maintained that it really enhanced the experience!! Annie certainly lived up to expectations! Tears, laughter and dancing- what could be better? There is so much talent in the cast of Annie. The cast brought so much heart and energy to the story! The cast were just unbelievable and made the show what it is. This heartwarming holiday musical is full of hope, resilience and heart! It's so energetic and wholesome. From the catchy songs to the amazing cast, this production will leave you smiling long after the curtain closes! Amazing talent, wonderful story, beautiful music! Pure joy from start to finish! An unforgettable experience that unites joy, nostalgia and the excellence of Richmond's Gateway Theatre. From the first note all the way through to the end, this is an unforgettable show. I could easily have walked out of the doors and back in for another performance. We were all up and dancing at the end and came out of the theatre with big grins on our faces. I took my daughter to see Anne of Green Gables The Musical at the Gateway Theatre in Richmond, back…read morein December. I remember watching it myself many years ago when I was a young girl and as she and I have read quite a few of the "Anne" books together, I felt she'd enjoy the show just as much as I did.  The show was wonderful but I was a bit put off by how late the performance started. Start time for the show was supposed to be 1:00pm but the show didn't actually start until nearly 20 minutes. I was also not impressed with the system for getting refreshments during intermission. The lineup to get a drink/snack was insanely long and didn't seem to be moving. My daughter and I gave up after awhile and just back to our seats. I noticed a sign which indicated that one could pre-order drinks for intermission. I wonder how many other people saw this sign. I think it would have been nice if they'd advertised that option a bit more.  Overall, an enjoyable experience. We came to see the show so that's what mattered most and the show was wonderfully done. What, no reviews yet for this super cool gallery? Weird!…read more My friends and I visited this gallery today to check out the Gordon Smith exhibit. It was WONDERFUL. There is ample free parking on the street, but be advised, there are also free parking spots for gallery visitors at the rear of the gallery. (We were unaware of this, but good to know, for the next time we visit). The gallery is on the corner of Commercial Street and Stainsbury Ave. (There must be bakeries in the area as the air has the intoxicating aroma of freshly baked croissants. It was amazing! But I digress....). The space is very open and filled with natural light, primarily from the enormous garage door "window" at the front. If one is mobility challenged, you will not have any issues here, as the whole gallery is on one level, there are no stairs, and the space is open concept. The Gordon Smith exhibit worked quite well in this space, as the artist's works were all substantial in scale, and the white walls here easily accommodated the large canvases. We signed up to be advised of future art shows here. What a great local gallery!

For those who enjoy contemporary art, and you're in the UBC area, the Belkin gallery is a must…read morevisit. It's free, it's low key, and staff are friendly. Recently, I came here to view artwork during their exhibition on the history of Indian residential schools, and I really like how one could view different medium of artwork without any protective glass barriers at this gallery. It's an art gallery on UBC campus that's actually pretty cool!

It was well worth the trek out to UBC to see the current exhibition at the Belkin Art Gallery…read more(Action-Camera: Beijing Performance Photography, until April 19th, 2009). It can be hard to navigate the galleries of Vancouver as the listings in the weekly papers hardly ever have enough details to grab ones interest. I will keep my eye on the Belkin Gallery after this. The space itself is a bit small (three rooms attached by a narrow hallway) with the requisite high ceilings. Exhibitions are free & there is pay parking near by.

The artist is Federico Méndez-Castro. He beamed while several customers admired his work and one lady shouted with praise and awe when she first walked in.

I told her what I was looking for and and she pulled out her trusty laptop and ran through a bunch of artists that they represent and described each of the artists perspective to me. I found some pieces that I liked by David Tycho and dropped the bomb on Jennifer that I would need then on a Remembrance day which is a stat for most... with out even skipping a beat she offered to meet me on her day off to get me the art I needed.....wow! Extra special thing today I happened to be there at the right time because I had the chance to meet the gallery owner Mat Petley-jones nephew of the late Canadian and British artist Llewellyn Petley-Jones. three thumbs up from this yelper!

Also Bau-Xi Gallery is a constant on a block of changing retailers and gentrification, just steps from the gallery VPD used Deadly force to subdue a Mentally Ill man that case (Paul Boyd) is still under review just as the images on Galleries walls for the public to see. Redpaths work will only be on display till Aug 25, images start @ $2500 and if your a collector this work is a steal in my opinion
