We were walking around the city, and we stumbled upon a beautiful building so our curiosity kicked in, and turns out it was one of the larger public arenas that used to host bullfights back in the day. We didn't have tickets in advance (they are not needed) and we just paid the 8 euro (per person) to walk around the venue.
There's no guided tour or anything, it's really a choose your on adventure to explore the grounds. You can walk on the main floor of the arena, walk through where they used to keep the bulls and really just soak up the history of the place without a bunch of crowds.
They have section that has all the traditional bull fighting costumers from the 1800 and 1900s, along with the event posters, which was a pretty cool thing to see.
We probably spent around 45 minutes here and even though there wasn't much going on, it was a nice break away from the crowds and an opportunity to learn a little bit more of Barcelona's culture read more
