I've been a patient at Monument PT in Grand Junction for 5 years. Recently I hurt my back packing to move. I saw their newest PT, Jack Gillingham. Jack is GREAT 1) asking the right questions to get to the root of my back pain, learning about my other relevant medical history, checked out my pain and movement, demonstrated and had me do some core strengthening and hip/back stretching, and sent me home with diagrams/videos to remind me how to do the exercises. Because I"m moving soon, I was worried about making this worse. He took me into the gym and demonstrated how to protect my back when picking up or carrying things. He checked in on me later in the week. I improved each day. In a week I had to move but was careful and did not re-injure it. I will be back to see Jack regularly about my chronic hip issue. He is friendly, caring, calming, and highly knowledgeable. What a great addition to Monument PT. read more

Upon arrival you have to pay for parking, the entrance flooring is uneven and awkward as is the inside walk up. My last two appointments consisted of mostly being rubbed with a spatula like device. The exercise/stretching print outs were black and white, not easily read.I had already held my tongue and silent quit when they called me the week after sending out the bill "reminding" me payment is due. ROBERTA RIDDEL, is the best. She truly listens to her parents and make a plan based on where you are at and not a check sheet. Every appointment she check see what you have done on your own and makes adjustments based upon that conversation. I'm not only recommend her to others. Josh knows how to work the magic. I've been dealing with a repetitive stress injury in my left wrist from a lifetime of computer work and mountain biking. After his initial assessment he was able to find several places that we could focus on to help alleviate the pain/numbness I was experiencing. This was my first experience with dry-needling and it provided immediate results. Josh also put together an exercise routine that I could do at home to help my issues from coming back. This place is completely amazing. I've struggled with chronic neck and shoulder pain following a car accident and a bad bike crash for the past two years and I've tried lots of different treatments. The biggest difference about the care at Monument PT (other than how great my body is feeling after just a few weeks) is how much I learn every time I go. Josh has taught me so much about how my muscles actually work and what's really going on in there, which makes me feel empowered to take control of my own healing. He takes his time and I feel like his goal is to arm me with the tools I need to address my injury as it flares up rather than coming back every week with no end in sight, which has been my past experience with PT. I am no professional when it comes to endurance sports, but I definitely push myself hard year around. And when it comes to mountain biking in the Grand Valley Monument Physical Therapy helps me to be able to ride year around on our gnarly trails. Josh allows me to get the most out of my body, especially considering I have had two knee surgeries. The first being a total ACL, LCL, PCL, and Meniscus football injury in high school, the second another repair to my Meniscus, and since than a handful of bike crashes, climbing falls, and muscle tightness. No one is better than Josh when it comes to pinpointing the issue and helping you get better.
