There are 142 camping sites, with those numbered 1-75 having been improved. Our site was waterfront on the backwaters of the Alabama River, which offered tranquil scenic views and entertainment as we watched boats pass. The setting was natural, with many trees. Our site was huge, with a long, flat, and paved pad. The site had a picnic table, and full hook-ups. As a federal campground, the prices ($30, with hookups) were reasonable, especially with a 50% discount ($15) for holders of the NPS Senior pass. The campground has a nice playground for the kids, and laundry facilities. Plus, it's in relatively close proximity to Montgomery. One point off on my rating for two reasons -- (1) the campground is across the street from the Montgomery Motor Speedway. Unfortunately, there was a race on the evening when we were there, and there was a lot of noise from the racetrack although it did end before our sleep time. Otherwise, the campground would've been very peaceful. (2) the showers/restrooms are centralized, and quite a trek from our site. We definitely recommend this campground, and would return if we visit Alabama again.

If you're going to visit all the memorials and museums commemorating enslavement and the civil rights movement, having a family reunion, or in town on business, I would recommend staying at the Elevate Convening Center and Hotel. The hotel is very contemporary and beautiful. The rooms are spacious with comfy beds. The swanky corner suites offer views of Mongonery Square and of the city. The pool area faces west so you can experience spectacular sunsets. There are sitting areas all over the hotel where you can relax and decompress. Highly recommended!

Here's our experience. 1) Dinner: To house our group off 22 people, we were in the Rise conference room. Despite being a conference room, they set it up well. Tables had white clothes and fancier silverware. A little bar was set in the back serving cocktails, wine, beer, etc. A small buffet line was off to one side with delicious food. There was a salad, warm rolls with butter, mac and cheese, broccolini with garlic confit, fried chicken, and short ribs. For dessert, there was banana pudding and chocolate pie. Everything was excellent! To drink, servers kept our cups filled with ice water or sweet tea. 2) Space: The entire center is new and beautifully designed. Take the time to wander and see the grand staircase. Don't miss the library where you can learn more about EJI's work. Inside is a door to the Reflection Garden and a theatre to watch EJI videos.

We stayed in the Rose Room for four nights while visiting. Although the Rose Room is one of the smaller rooms there, there was plenty of room for me and my wife along with our 4yr old daughter who slept in an inflatable toddler bed. Our bed had a very comfortable mattress and we all slept great! The cottage is located very close to downtown Montgomery (walking distance actually), and it is also just off of the interstate so very easy to get around during your stay. Breakfast each morning was fantastic. Some B&B's only offer a continental breakfast, but at Red Bluff you get a full hot breakfast, cooked by Bonnie each morning. There was also a mini-fridge downstairs with complimentary water and soda along with a Keurig coffee maker in the lounge for coffee anytime. I really can't think of anything negative to say about our stay. The only caveats would be that there are stairs up-to the house from the parking area (off street in back), and the dining room and lounge are upstairs from the bottom floor where all the guest rooms are located. Not an issue for us, but could be for someone with physical limitations. The rooms also do not have TVs (which again was not an issue for us), but there is a TV upstairs in the lounge if desired. All-in-all just a great place and we will absolutely stay there again if we return to the area.
