I have been an ASF member and patron for many years. My daughter and I went by the box office today, July 29th at approximately 3 PM to change the show time of the tickets purchased for the Wizard of Oz. The box office "customer service" reps attitudes were not exemplary of the tiles they wear! Neither of them had smiles on their faces and they did not greet us as patrons upon walking in. They were stoic faced, unfriendly and boarderline rude. Upon requesting to change ticket times, they stated we must pay an additional $5 per ticket. Upon paying $10 for the change, we were not asked what seats we wanted (several comparable premium seats were left as indicated on the seating chart online). However, the rep took it upon herself without asking us or acknowledging to honor the same level seats of our purchased seats. That rep took too much liberty in downgraded our prepaid premium seats (close to the stage) to lesser ones much further back. Yet, she did not offer us compensation for the lesser priced seats she gave with the new showtime. Also, I politely asked them about "using the restroom". The elderly rep immediately after me questioning "where is the bathroom?", stated in a condescending tone, pointing toward the window, saying in the form of a statement "were the bathrooms outside locked". I replied pointing to our SUV parked just outside of the ticket box office door, "what bathroom? Our car is right there!" Then she said something in a very low voice to one of the other reps sitting next to her. That rep without saying one word, only gestured for me to follow her. I assumed correctly, it was to show me the way and to unlock the area where the bathroom is. As I was leaving neither of the three so titled customer service reps uttered a word. Neither of them had given an entrance salutation (hello, how are you doing?) nor parting salutation (goodbye, have a good day, etc.). There was very little to literally no verbal interaction from them during our entire experience. I am very disappointed with the customer experience caused by those employees representing what I have never had a problem patronizing as an elite, reputable local theater. We left feeling disrespected and less than the loyal, longstanding, paying member/patron of ASF that we are and have been for the course over several years.

The service of course, is military, friendly, and lends itself to catering events on base. My friends and I enjoyed ourselves and had a great time here. It's also strikes me as a cool kind of place to have like a retirement or just to show up after work to watch the game . Chances are if you're reading this, you're close enough for it to be an option. You will be pleased if you select it.

Hey, at least they've got 2 new crud tables in the basement. I think this place has the best food to be found on base. The lunch buffets are $$$. Good quality and all for $8.95 for non-club members or $7.95 for members. I'm a reservist so club membership makes absolutely no sense. There's a nice bar with good service. The pit area makes a great entertaining space for OTS, SOS, ACSC, AWC and other unit events. It's actually quite amazing how many people actually fit in this area. The staff on hand all seemed very nice and courteous. What I also really love is the sense of history that this place has as you walk into the building and pass by the walls. Don't know what it is...but it just has some of that old world charm. Anyway, great place to dine for lunch. I'll be back!

At first, my compadre and I sat and ridiculed the middle-aged magician who was hired to entertain our party of mutually middle- (to end) aged guests. But that's just what humans do when they don't understand something. Plus, it did seem to be a rather unconventional form of entertainment for adults, no? No. Once Gary had exposed his huge talent (not in that frowned-upon overcoat and no undies kinda way) to us, I changed my chastising tune. He was so good at what he did, one couldn't help but be impressed. Im not going to detail any of his tricks, as I don't want to take away from the experience, but he had a vast arsenal up his rolled up sleeves: from card tricks, to coins, and hanky's disa and reappearing no one in our party could pinpoint how any trick was done. I kept hearing "slight of hand" this, and "slight of hand" that; slight of hand my ass, this guy has legit skills. If he can handle and entertain a room of fifty, 50 year-olds with an open bar, I'm sure a kids birthday party would be, well... child's play. Book this guy.

However, the owners really just go above and beyond in so many ways that show they really care. The parents nights out every month are viewed by my daughter as a "ballet party" and we all look forward to them. They capped off the year with a recital called "Bravo Bash" and all the sweet girls got dressed in fancy costumes with tiaras and got to show off everything they learned. Each dancer had an opportunity to take photos and was presented w a tiny stuffed swan to commemorate their Swan Lake performance. I highly recommend this studio that want to encourage their children to learn and love ballet.

Montgomery Symphony Orchestra - A beautiful scene at night!!

FINAL CURTAIN FOR THIS SEASON!…read more My husband and I were all excited to hear the symphony especially since many performances have ended for the season. On Friday night, Montgomery had their final performance and their theme was heroes. It was very timely since we are preparing to honor our nation's heroes on this upcoming Memorial Day. The event was hosted by the city's mayor. I found that the primary speaker was a mix of good and bad. Good because he is a very warm and gregarious personality, but bad because he knew everyone and talked too much. I understood that he needed to introduce the heroes and others but the small talk went a little long and at times it felt as if he forgot that he was in the middle of a program. Since the theme was heroes, selections included scores from Superman, Beauty and the Beast, Indiana Jones, our personal favorite Schindler's List and others. When it comes to classical music, my husband and I prefer the classics but I realize that they have to lighten things up a bit in order to appeal to the masses. We both agreed that the orchestra was a bit out of tune throughout the performance and definitely needed more practice. Still, there were some nice moments. The greatest idea to come out of this performance was the fact that it was held on the stunning grounds of the State and History Building. It was a beautiful backdrop in perfect weather and we simply enjoyed the opportunity to sit on such beautiful grounds with great weather. The event was well attended and a nice send off for the orchestra and the conductor who has been leading this orchestra for 35 years. Awesome!
