If you are not a tax specialist, please see Holt, Lankford, & Lankford, LLC. For many years, my husband and I in doing our own taxes have paid monies for back tax, most of which, we probably did owe. I was led astray by my parents' tax experience. The same CPA or family member (who took over after Mrs. Dorothy died) charged my mother $600-$700 each for her business taxes, and her personal taxes. This was CPA's cost. I automatically assumed that a professional with Mr. Holt's credentials would be double if not more. I will not mention my cost because everyone's situation is different. Mrs. Dorothy tax service LLC filed my parents' taxes since their first IRS audit in 1979. I encourage you to seek Mr. Holt or another professional tax consultation. You can continue to pay Uncle Sam or receive your regular refund. Don't short yourself, I have no doubt that paying a tax professional is extremely beneficial. Why?
