After we walked into CLA, we both knew that this was the right place. When our daughter first started, she had a very severe speech delay. Very pleased with the information they cover and things my kids experienced and learned. They never if rarely came home with bad attitudes or acted not taken care of. I would say they were always excited and loved attending. My two boys attended from pre-k 2 to 5 (and kindergarten when they had it). Now a few years later, we are back and I am bringing my 3rd son- starting in the 2yr-old room. So excited!

As a parent of a child who struggles with big behaviors and emotions, I can tell you that every person here is filled with patience and kindness. I know that when I drop my kid off each day, he's safe, loved, learning, and having fun. TLE has never made him or me feel like he didn't belong-- quite the opposite - I know he's exactly where he belongs and I couldn't imagine another center that would love and teach him more. He's thriving, growing, and finding his way. Sure, he has tough days, but Jenn and the rest of the admin team, his teachers - Kirsten, Lacie and all the staff are right there beside him every day, meeting him with love. I found more than just a daycare--I found a family.

This school has it's pros and cons. The pro is the small…read moreclass sizes. Less than 50 students per grade, so it is possible to know all of your classmates. This is also a con because it makes "cliques" more apparent. Pros: Parent-teacher relationships are strong. Attached to the church so there is no walking outside during inclement weather. Nuns still teach and run the school, this is less common in some other Catholic schools. Convenient for local children. Has after school program. CORA is available to tutor children who are having trouble, this happens during school hours. Cons: Costly, there are even charges if your child stays for lunch (which last I remember is held in the classrooms since there is no proper cafeteria.) Lack of after school activities, and those that do exist are expensive. Extracurricular classes are poor, in particular gym, which is held in the chilly basement of the church. Small class sizes mean advanced students are held back. To keep them busy they are asked to help less advanced students. Most of the student body lives in the area and graduates to Archbishop Ryan. Religion is held in high regard, and is very prevalent in the classroom. By attending this school, CCD is not mandatory as you study for and receive the sacraments through their church.

We constantly tell people that sending our children to your school was one of the best decisions we have ever made as parents. Our daughter has grown immensely from the education and structure received since her start and we thank you for that. We look forward to her continued growth and the progression of our sons development as he begins. Additionally we respect the discipline, level of instruction and experience that all of the staff offer to our children through their variety of learning engagements. The staff is not only supportive, friendly and caring but are committed to educating our children vs the common "babysitting" practice we experienced with prior Childcare facilities. Lastly we have great comfort in knowing this is a safe school with implemented safety technology/procedures that are executed daily giving us the assurance our children are in safe hands during the day. A huge thank you again for running a great progam and to the operation of a safe and educating childcare facility. Brian and Carly

If I had neuro-typical child, this school would be my first choice because their teaching method is truly the best at developing young minds. I need to note that my son attended this school with a highly trained aid. There are 18 kids in a classroom with 3 teachers. It is unfair and unrealistic to expect extra time be given to any one student on a daily basis. My son's participation worked at this school because his aid ensured that he was not a constant disruption to the classroom. The teachers were incredibly supportive of my son and his aid; he eventually worked seamlessly into the classroom with minimal assistance from his aid. Overall, this is a fantastic school. If your child has special needs, this school can be fantastic....but they cannot be expected to "treat" a child beyond that which a normal, non special education teacher, would do. However, they were very willing to work with my son and his aid, to the extent that it did not interfere with the other children. I found their approach very reasonable. Fun Side Note: The teachers were so happy with my son's aid that they sent her flowers at the end of the school year. She was really touched (as was I).

Before becoming a parent I saw the insides of many preschool classrooms working with early intervention. I've never seen a school with this atmosphere and kids really do learn how to be a friend. The yellow box is an amazing concept. It changes every week for imaginative play. It could be a boat , a store, a cave... so many fun things that get the kids learning and playing together. Not many schools use the materials they use for learning. They have a work bench where the children can hammer and saw. The playground has a big sandbox, lots of swings, natural climbing surfaces and more fun things to do. Its nice to be able to stay and play afterward. You get to know the classmates and family of the class. I can't recommend it enough.

I was placed in the front of the school in a room with approximately 10-12 other children with ADD. We did well in subject matters but had trouble staying focused and seated. What I do remember very well were the beatings we all suffered from the teachers. One was named Lauer, possibly Alfred. Back in the 60s, they used old-fashioned yardsticks to keep us in order. They would beat us until we cried. We had nobody to appeal to, as we were just a bunch of 7 year old munchkins. How bad could we have been? Lauer would first verbally torture the children. Then, if we reacted in an adverse manner, he would take his yardstick, which was never far from him, and beat the living crap of the child in his sights. Although we were not part of the larger school with many autistic children, we did have lunch with them in the lunchroom. I remember quite vividly those poor souls being beaten and abused by the staff. They never tried to hide or cover up the abuse.
