***GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE***…read more Disturbed to know that this place treats people unfairly because of their economic status. Not to mention the staff are a bunch of phone-addicts constantly texting or on social media sharing memes/posts all while laughing out loud and the children play with no care. Not cool that the lifeguards can't take their jobs serious enough also but hey that's what you get from a place like this. Even spoke to an employee who confirmed that they don't treat everyone fair because of their economic stature, and the unfair treatment of the ones that do care about the children. No one reprimands the lazy and the ones with work etiquete have to pick up the slack, they weren't going to be around much longer because of this. Glad my kids don't go here, and if they did I would pull them out and get the news all over this place. It's 2021 people, you aren't entitled to anything, and you aren't better than anyone because of you economic stature or the color of your skin. This isn't the last you've heard of this. Sending in the cavalry.

The bathroom needs upgrading, the classes could be better and more consistent. Overall, the programs they offer and the amount of variety they have would and has me coming back every week. They could improve on so many things to make this a great place for kids to older adults come.

The teachers there taught me a lot that I needed to know and how to function out in the world and how to hold onto a real job. I admit that I haven't visited lately but I can say that this school is good for those with special needs.

Delta School on Byberry Road in Northeast Philadelphia is an amazing place…read more It is a fully accredited school for children with special needs due to autism, neurologic or emotional issues that make mainstreaming them in public schools highly problematic. It has been around since 1958 on a lovely small campus. Children from surrounding Philadelphia, its suburbs, and New Jersey can send their students here for a quality education geared to their individual requirements. The administration, teachers, and staff are specialized and totally committed to their mission. I was fortunate to discover Delta School and its CEO, Stanley Stein, as part of the Newtown Creek Coalition's work to protect and preserve the natural watercourse that runs through our community. Delta owns property right along the Creek (smart investment), and our non-profit approached theirs about doing projects together to create an access to the Creek in a natural, inviting setting that could be utilized by walkers, hikers, bikers, and students. Open Space funding is available to make this happen, but it takes time and understanding of what is possible in exchange for what is given up. As the lead for this effort, I sought out Delta School and arranged a meeting to give them our vision, and their part in it if they wished to share. We are in preliminary discussions, but having the opportunity to visit the school, talk with the visionaries running it, and watch some of the students on campus, was heartwarming and laden with respectful appreciation of what was going on there. The world is a much better place for Delta School. May they continue to help children change their lives and prepare them for the road ahead.

This wonderful holiday market is such a hit. Hundreds of booths in 2 bldgs!…read more Local folks selling some charming traditional Bucks County holiday goods. Ahhh, The charms of nostalgia!! This is where I learned all about Ellen Clapsaddle, the artist that started the trend of holiday cards . There is a booth that celebrates this tradition!! Vintage ornaments & decorations. "Joyce" takes these vintage cards and re-purposed them into ornaments & home decorations! I picked up some mini holiday decorations for my office. I think they also make your dining room table look extra festive. I think it's a wonderful gift to give folks. This year they also have vintage, Irish , Italian, Norwegian, German cards (& others!!) There are so many charming booths. I just love it. There is another charming booth that has homemade tiles. That is a very traditional Bucks County styled craft! These tiles are handmade, hand pressed ornaments / decorations made out of clay. Gorgeous art by Isabelle Twigcrafts! If you'd like to decorate with a theme, let her know, and she will show you some of her items!! Please see the few photos posted. This festival is going on only today and tomorrow(saturday & Sunday) November 12th-13th, 2022 Enjoy!!!! Gifts made locally!! Handmade items! Not everything is holiday themed.
