My husband and I were gifted hydrobike tickets for our honeymoon and we were NOT disappointed! Marcus was very friendly and easy to set up our time with, and you can tell he really loves what he does! The entire experience was a blast and we loved seeing the wildlife while getting our exercise in at the same time! We'll definitely be recommending this to anyone we know visiting the area.

Excellent experience. I took my two children and niece (all under 12) and we had a fabulous time. The hydrobikes are extremely stable and safe and the business owner is helpful with great tips for a wonderful time. We biked and saw jellyfish, otters, harbor seals, and many different birds. Highly recommend this experience even with children as it is similar to riding a bike.

Amazing experience! The experience was unforgettable especially seeing so many ocean animals up close! The business owner was incredibly friendly and gave us detailed explanations before we headed out for the experience. The whole experience was fantastic and we will definitely recommend it to more friends!

I always wanted to try this place and since there was a Groupon for it, we bought it at $60 for 2 people for 2 hours. Give yourself enough time before arriving for your orientation because parking can be a little confusing. You do have to pay unfortunately. It's an honor system where you put money in an envelope and drop it into a box. Marcus was really nice in explaining everything you need to know, from the wildlife you will see, what areas to go to/avoid, how to get yourself unstuck... which did happen to me so that information was very helpful. 2 hours is ample time to explore and observe. After an hour, your butt does start to get sore and it gets a little uncomfortable. My bottom hurted for about 3 days after biking. Everyone was wearing masks and the bikes were being sanitized so I felt very safe and had no worries. Going at 11am is the best option in my opinion. Don't worry if it's overcast. It's actually the best weather because you won't be sweating and dying under the sun. Overall, this was a great experience! You can go to Moss State Beach afterwards for a picnic also!

This is my second visit with them and they are always thoughtful and helpful in guiding our biking trail around the area. We saw a lot of seals, beavers and jellyfish in the water. No fish but maybe next time!

Saw a ton of otters like these!

Came with my family as a group of 6 to celebrate a couple of birthdays. As a Bay Area local, it can be hard to find fun new activities, and I can genuinely say this is the best activity I've done in a long time! Saw a bunch of otters and harbor seals - many more seals than when kayaking in Marin or canoeing in Mendocino. One even came up and swam 6 ft behind my dad's hydrobike for a bit! Marcus was extremely knowledgeable and I'm surprised this activity isn't more well known - truly a gem that I'll be recommending to friends (local and out of town) from here on out. Will definitely be back! Other notes: - The peddling was very relaxed / easy - far easier than being on a kayak, and no risk of getting wet! - 2 hours on the water was the perfect amount of time. - I also appreciated how reasonably priced this was - such a steal compared to other Bay Area activities. - The bikes were also really clean which was great.

The hydrobikes are really stable. My wife and can't swim so she was wary about getting on the hydrobikes. 5 minutes in, however, she ways racing ahead of me and I had to keep up. The on-line reservation and check-in process were a breeze, and staff (Marcus and a lady) were really helpful and friendly. We saw a lot of wildlife on Elkhorn Slough. It was a great work out, and we stayed dry.

MB Hydrobikes was so much fun! We booked for 2 people at 8am. We basically had the slough to ourselves! If you're going on the weekend, I highly recommend booking the earlier ride. Our ride ended at 10am & there were dozens of kayakers heading out at that time. You definitely get to see a lot more of the wildlife up the slough before the crowd shows up. 2 hours was plenty of time for us to ride up the slough, and back while also taking time to enjoy the otters! The owners were also super super nice & did a great job at explaining the do's & do nots. Glad we found this place!

This was an amazing experience. Marcus was really informative on where to go and what parts to avoid so you don't get trapped in sea grad. Otters and jellyfish would appear right next to you in the water. It was truly a one of a kind experience. Will definitely come back!

This is a must experience. It's like an elliptical over water lol. I absolutely love enjoying a day with family enjoying beautiful nature. We arrived at 9am and it was crisp but sunny. Soon we were burning those calories and getting hot. Fortunately the waterbikes have a little storage place to put your hoodie, phone, drinks, or snacks. This experience was very relaxing and a great time to be outdoors, have good conversation and enjoy the seals, jellyfish, birds, and otters. We plan on returning with friends. Yes, we loved it that much.

I stumbled upon this in perfect timing. This was perfect for a date and also perfect for bonding with my little cousin. I've gone 2 weeks in a row so far. The best part is seeing the otters!! there are soo many and they are sooo cute! my boyfriend really enjoyed this and so did my cousin. I cannot wait to do this again and again with everyone! Everyone sees this on my Instagram and wants to go. I'm telling everyone about this. Marcus is the host and he is a really nice guy. Looking forward to being a regular customer :)

Super fun and safe activity for the whole family! I highly recommend and we will definitely be going back.

I surprised the boyfriend last Saturday morning to a trip to Moss Landing for his birthday and we had an awesome fun time! We didn't know there was such a thing called hydrobikes. It's basically like riding a bike but on water and it's completely stable and wet-free! We met up with Mark and he instructed us on how to use the hydrobikes and where you can bike around. He was super friendly and helpful for our first time. He also reassured us that we won't get wet unless we intended to and you can't ever tip over as well. But the fearful side of me was still scared that I might tip over so I panicked a little when I first got on the bike. But after awhile you get use to it and I wasn't scared anymore lol. The hydrobikes came with binoculars, a card of different types of birds, space for your stuff in a box in front and two water bottle holders. There's quite a lot of wildlife around the area. We saw a lot of different kinds of birds, sea otters, and sea lions for the 2 hours we were there. Didn't get to see any jelly fish but there was a lot of them days before. We got close enough to see sea otters and sea lions which was so cool! The sea otters were so cute swimming around and floating on top of water! Overall, it's a super fun experience and I highly recommend giving it a try! It's pretty affordable and you can find deals on it on Groupon/Living Social.

The staff were well very nice and helpful. The main con of our trip was the two person top sitting kayak we were on seemed to have problems with steering. No matter how hard we tried to turn right, the kayak always tended to veer the other direction which was frustrating. We got another kayak to check if they saw anything wrong visually on the water, but they couldn't see anything so maybe there was something going on with the underside of the kayak. Besides that, we had a nice time on the water and were able to enjoy seeing all the birds and cute otters and seals out and about. Later in the morning and early afternoon we even got to see the otters get more active and go diving for mud worms that looked like bright orange cigars. It was super cute seeing the otters sleeping nested in the kelp too. Try not to disturb them though since they need to conserve energy to stay warm! We unfortunately saw one tour group led by a guide that went right next to a sleeping pod of otters and woke them all up. Overall, fun place to go kayaking with wildlife! Glad we went on this trip here!

Most other whale watching companies go out of the Fisherman's Wharf which means you have to spend 30-40 minutes traveling just to spend 35 minutes with the whales and then spend another 40 minutes it's traveling back. Bottom line you get more bang for your buck with Blue Ocean and it is truly a whale watching EXPERIENCE rather than a boat ride.
