Rene in maintenance is a true professional. It is a Family orientated community with a elementary school across the street and quick access to I-10 freeway and Fred waring. Occasionally a weird walker by walking outside at odd hrs at night but that's Indio and everywhere else. Sometimes it's entertaining!! ‍ Great starter apartments. Neighbors are friendly. No roaches. Wood tiled floors through out. Clean. Pleasant environment. Angelica and her team are the best I've ever had, because they care about their job and keep their tenants happy as can be. This is the closest you will get to owning your own place, and it really feels like a "home". The rent price is a great value when compared to other similar apartment complexes near by. The amenities really are great. The gym is fantastic and has everything you need for a good workout, including multiple Peleton bikes, treadmills, free weights and cables. There are 2 pool areas and both are well kept. We have friends over often and always show off the main pool area and get cozy with the private cabanas and grills provided. It's very scenic with the palm tree collection and mountainous backdrop and makes for great photos. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the maintenance service is has a modern touch, as all requests are submitted directly from their website. Never a hastle, the front desk does a great job giving a courtesy call prior to the Maintenice guys coming and once here, they are very professional, well mannered and knowledgeable. This is a big one for me, as my last apartment the Maintenice was AlWAYS a drag! Special shout out to Antonio for always going above and beyond to provide great service. A faulty, non-code-compliant water-heater installation led to mold / water damage, forcing our family to live elsewhere for over two weeks. The City of La Quinta issued a Cease-and-Desist / Stop Work Order, yet management still charges full rent and utilities while part of our home remains sealed off under a mold-containment tent. We've received no lab results or proof that our unit is habitable, and communication from management has been nearly nonexistent. This is unacceptable and unsafe for any paying tenant. We are reserving all rights under California Civil Code § 1941.1 and § 1942, which require landlords to keep units habitable and give tenants remedies when they do not. All the rsvp's in, invitations sent out and choices made. What was the excuse. ? They needed menu selections two weeks before the date but they never answered the phone. So they cancelled a party for that. We couldnt imagine that the chef would have to order salmon 2 weeks before. But ok. But the topper came when one of the employees called and said it was cancelled for lack of payment. That was the first thing they asked me for, payment in full! I will leave you all to be the judge of this place. Dont plan anything big. They might be short handed at the last minute and lie to you about why they cancelled. Wow

The first 6 months were pleasant, respectful neighbors, quiet hours were upheld, and the apartment felt like home. Sadly, the last 3 months were the complete opposite. New tenants upstairs did not respect quiet hours and this consisted of loud music, banging on the floor which sounded like furniture being dropped/moved, and constant loud footsteps which I sometimes thought were in my apartment, happened throughout the day primarily after 10pm until about 1am. I communicated this to the front office several times via email and phone calls from February until my move out week in April and this was never really addressed. I sent videos of my living room with my television on and the overpowering sounds of footsteps yet I was told that "the building floors creek". I was told they were being written up a couple of times which is none of my business and violates the other tenants privacy. Apart from that, I reported a swastika imprinted in the sidewalk near the front gate and saw it until the day I moved out. (See picture) After February, this place felt far from something I'd call home and was happy to move out. I know that other tenants are able to live there peacefully, unfortunately that was not the case for me.

Five stars for Breah, and zero stars for Junior, who does maintenance…read more The Good: Breah was wonderful from my first phone call of inquiry to when I moved out nearly two years later. Breah goes out of her way to be available and of assistance to the residents. Any time I emailed a maintenance request, there was always a response, often within a matter of minutes. There is a water aerobics class with an instructor, a monthly bagel breakfast, and other events throughout the month such as bingo, so that residents are able to meet and get to know their neighbors. All of these wonderful events are organized by Breah. The Bad: Junior has a most appropriate name. Instead of behaving like a 30 year old professional, he acts like a moody and petulant adolescent. Several times we passed each other on the sidewalk and we are the only two persons there, and I would say, "Hello, Junior!" and he would make eye contact, look away, and not respond. This happened multiple times and I know that he is not hard of hearing. Junior does good work, but it is stymied by his lack of even minimal social skills. The Ugly: Junior also takes it upon himself to lecture residents who are more than twice his age on how he thinks they should behave in a particular situation. Rude. Rude. Rude. All in all, Parkwood at Polo Grounds is a wonderful place to live if you can ignore Junior's infantile behavior. The residents are mostly friendly Baby Boomers, and Breah does everything possible to create a safe and fun place to call home.
