This is a pretty lousy cab company. Rates are cheaper than black and white, but as I frequently utilize taxi services - during the day and also at night - this one is only worthwhile if you are located in downtown Montclair. Many of the drivers are inept as far as providing fares outside of the immediate vicinity of this town. Maybe it's a problem the management has in providing said drivers with GPS-units....however, I don't think "Turtle Back Zoo" should require a navigation device. Especially for drivers.....you would think that this would be a pretty distinct landmark, yes? Apparently not. I live in a recognizable edifice, perhaps not distinguishable from its neighbors, but in an easily navigable neighborhood. Say, "Giotto" or "Jakes" or "The Office" or "Cop-Shop"....you get my drift, it's pretty easy to find. The amount of times I have had to go outside of my apartment and walk around my block in order to find the driver is a little ridiculous. But because they are so damn cheap, I keep going back for more, fully aware that the "ten minutes" the dispatcher tells me is usually closer to 20. In the words of Whitney....crack is whack. read more

I just moved to the area and scheduled a cab to take me to the airport. After 10 minutes of waiting, another cab drove past me by chance and i jumped in. It's inexcusable in this day and age for a cab company to be late. I recommend giving yourself ample time if you use these guys. Welcome to the burbs. read more

That operator is something else. All I can say is. I pray for her! Do not use this cab company. They have old cars , they are never on time and the person who picks up the phone is ghetto satin. read more

Just called to ask how much it would be from Montclair to Parsippany, guy on the phone told me $75.00 plus taxes and tips. I said, to Pasippany? and he said yes, you asked me the cost I'm telling you the cost right? OMG SO RUDE! Horrible service, you guys just lost one of your Montclair customers. read more

Terrible service. Called for a cab and was told I could use credit card with an extra charge ($3.00 mind you, ridiculous in and of itself), and had to wait around an extra 15 minutes after getting to my place while the driver argued with the dispatcher because the payment was supposed to have been taken before the cab was sent. Plus, the driver just makes up a fare without even using the meter. read more

I wish I could give 1/16 of a star. None of the drivers are friendly, even when I give them a generous tip. I was on my way home from my dr.'s office. I received a breathing treatment, and a cab came that smelled of smoke! Really? Unacceptable. This was the last straw. I try to use others in the area. Only if I am desperate will I use them again. read more

Do not call! Extremely rude customer service. Hung up on me before I even finished asking for information.

NOT DEPENDABLE FOR MUST NEEDED TRAVEL. The cab came a half hour late to pick up my wife, causing her to miss her flight. We confirmed the time the night before... and when the cab was 10 minutes late we called to see where they were. The dispatch said she would check and that it would be 5 minutes. The cab came 30 minutes later, WAY after I put my wife in our car to drive herself, and I noticed there was snow all over the windshield and the driver looked as if he had just woken up, (like the dispatch person had to call him to get up and pick her up.) When I told the cab driver she left, he was dumbfounded... like ("uh, ok. now what?") Its too bad as I was hoping to have a LOCAL dependable cab company in Montclair Cab, rather than the 777-7777 service. Oh well. read more

Drivers are regularly late even if you call them hours in advance. Especially annoying when driver forgets to pick you up on the way to the airport, or show up half an hour late being drunk in addition. Coordinators never give phone numbers to contact drivers. Also, when you try to reach coordinators seeking for your cab, they might not answer your phone number or be rude in your conversation. Creepy service as it gets. read more

I'm a lifelong Montclair Resident, the new owner of Montclair Yellow Cab -- Joe, seems to be working harder than anyone I have seen to turn an old run down business into a modern pleasant excellent service company. Thanks Joe for all the great rides. Good Luck moving things forward. I can't wait to see the new cars and new office. read more

This is the worst cab company ever. I usually always call black and white if I need to use a cab but I was in a hurry and they were not answering today so I called these bastards instead. I told both the dispatcher and the driver that I needed to go to the Bloomfield train station. Where did this dumb ass take me? He took me to Bay St. station even after I'm telling him he's going the wrong way. Thanks to him I had to call another cab (used Black and White this time) pay $34 to get to Harrison Path Station and was still 30 mins late for work. After my boyfriend called on my behalf and complained they offered me my $10 back. Whoot Whoot. Like that really covers the annoyance and case I lost today. Never use them they suck!! read more

If I could rate this at 0 I would. 1. Cab driver had no idea where anything was, no gps no sense of direction 2. No meter in the taxi, WANTED TO CHARGE $14 FOR 1 MILE 3. When we asked him to let us out after ONE BLOCK, he asked for 5 dollars. He then said he would call the police if we did not hand over the 5 dollars. 4. Lady at customer service did nothing to help when we called about the incident. Overall horrible service, rude driver, old, disgusting car, we will never be using this service again. read more

Worst cab company in the whole world. It took them almost a hour and 20 minutes to get to my house. the cab was filled with puddles on the floor. they dont care about service or their cabs. If the cost was 1.50 the i would give this 3 stars. read more

This was the worse cab company I have ever dealt with. I asked for a car at 9:30AM. I called for the cab at 8:50AM, giving the cab company enough time to make a pick up in front of the Montclair YMCA. I had to call the cab company two times before the driver finally arrived at 9:40AM. He then proceeded to take me the slowest way possible. He also used his cell phone, which is illegal. Whatever you do, avoid this cab company like the plague. Incompetent, rude, and slow as molasses. I submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. People need to know how bad they are and get them off of the street. read more

I have never been in a smellier cab in my life. The car reeked of body odor....the worst I have ever smelled ever! I had to literally stick my head out of the window to breathe fresh air. Absolutely unbearable. read more

Horrific customer service. The woman who answered the phone was rude from the beginning and ended up yelling at me. Truly bizarre and most unpleasant. I would rather pay more for professional service. read more

Zero stars only because they won't let me give negative stars. Incredibly inefficient and borderline lying about when the cab would arrive. After waiting(l 15 minutes exactly where they were told that I would be, the cab supposedly left after never arriving. You would be better served walking to your destination. read more

No one came to pick me up to the airport and I am now taking an Uber as I write this and may miss my flight. Worst cab service EVER. I am outraged! read more
