If you like browsing around, there are probably better, more well stocked, newer libraries (like Montclair) but since the libraries are so interconnected, it's really easy to request what you want and come to receive when notified. I do think the parking can be annoying because it's either meter or wait until after 6 when the meters are free. This is unusual in my experience to not have free parking at a library, so it is a knock against it, but overall I like this place so I lean more towards a 4.

Just grab what you need and get out. The staff is always helpful and fast. There's also usually plenty of street parking out front.

Really love this library, I remember coming here when I was super young and bringing a bag with me…read moreso I could carry my 6 new books out easily. Is it clear I'm a nerd? I had to print a large amount of copies and the copy machine just looked at me like "hey you're screwed". I'm a hairdresser I had no idea how to use this life sized machine. Luckily one of the gals working was so so sweet, stopped everything she was doing and came over to help me! I was so grateful I could stop thanking her. Copies are ten cents there and I would've paid so much more because she was so helpful and sweet. They normally have a great selection of new books too, access to a nice amount of computers as well. The only drawback to this library is that it does not have its own parking lot. Depending on the time of the day it can be hard to find a spot because it's located right on the main avenue of the town. You can usually find a spot on the side streets. Overall it's a fantastic library, definitely recommend it if you need to get some work done or are just looking to get lost in a good book.

I'm currently in Grad school so I come to this library often when I need to get studying done. This…read moreis mainly because of convenience because it's much closer than my school library and I'm one of those people who need to leave my apartment to get work done efficiently. The library itself is very nice and has an amazing staff that are very helpful. However it has fewer amenities compared with other libraries. The few things they do offer is free wifi, computer access, as well as the obvious books/references. There are roughly 12-20 tables to sit and read. They also have a "security guard" that is usually present during all hours if you need someone to watch your stuff if you step out. Most places to sit have electrical outlets if you need to plug in a cellphone/laptop/tablet/etc. Overall this is a nice library and the only reason I gave it 3 stars is because it is SUPER NOISY, especially after kids get out of school!!! I can't stress this part enough!!!! Don't be surprised when people are answering cellphone calls, laughing, or carrying on full conversations as if they were at a sporting event. It's not your stereotypical...."Shhhhh be quiet and if you must speak wisper" -type of library. There are also private tutors that use this space to help adults and children with language lessons and after school tutoring, so there will be constant noise anytime after 12pm on schooldays. So make sure you bring headphones with music or earplugs if you are like me and need to drown out background noise. I also forgot to mention they a very small museum upstairs and a children's library that is located in the back and I've never really spent any time in either location to be honest. From what I've seen, the library has a pretty decent selection of books and constantly change their available displays for popular new reads.

I tend to take a lot of books out of our public libraries, but this isn't my favorite location of the three we have in town. The place could use a bit of a renovation...and a bigger selection of books and other media. In fact, unless I know they have a book that I 'need' I don't really go over to this location anymore. It's ok, it's convenient for this part of town, but I tend of go to the main branch-just easier to get to, better parking, and obviously a greater selection.

One of my most recent Yelp Friends beat me to reviewing our largest library here in…read moreParsippany...Thanks Pallabi... I read a lot and a few years ago my wife dropped the hammer on my book buying because my bookshelves were ridiculous...and since then, when I buy a book, it really has to be something I want because it has to fit on the bookshelf to buy it...or a book has to get donated to make room (full disclosure, we donate a LOT of books each year). Thus my new-found love for the library. Not like I didn't know it was there, duh, I had just drifted from its wonders. Growing up, I used to bring home piles of books from our public libraries in Piscataway and the public libraries here in Parsippany have become a similar sanctum for the kids, at least my son who reads as much as I do. I was really glad when they moved to this new location. When they moved they modernized everything and they have great spaces, study rooms, an awesome kids area, lots of public access computers, and a great selection of books...and the best thing about the Morris County Library system is that if your local library doesn't have a book you want, and another library does, they'll get it for you. Thanks for helping to instill a love of reading to my kids...

Ok, full disclosure. I Love libraries. LOVE them. The first thing I do when I move to a new place…read moreis to get a library card. And the Parsippany Public library is my favorite. I can definitely say that this place had an significant hand in shaping the person I am today. Not only did I read like a fiend when I was younger (31 Babysitter's Club in 30 days), I participated in all the summer reading clubs, I volunteered with them the day I was old enough, my first job was here and I was one of the original members of the Teen Advisory Board, which has sadly dissipated. In short, LOTS of opportunities to get your kids involved at an early age. When they made the shift to the new location, I was like a kid in a candy store. The old location was cozy, but new location is SO spacious. Especially the children's section (though I heard it suffered some water damage). The librarians were kooky, but awesome. Really helpful and knowledgeable. The selection is great. I really like their travel section. The study spaces are awesome, though I wouldn't mind some more cubicle spaces. There's little nooks and crannies to sit down and enjoy a good book all around. The programming here is some of the best I've seen anywhere. I hope this place stays just as awesome so I can bring my kids here someday.
