There was a large part of the stump sticking out one direction. He measured to that edge. He based his price on the largest/widest dimension of the protruding stump but never finished grinding out to that dimension. He ground an oval area. He left me with a large piece of the stump ball to dig out by hand. About 1/4th of the stump was left hidden under the chips. I had agreed to haul the chips away so the chips are not an issue but he should know how to check that all of the stump is gone. I had plenty of roots to chase but they were easy compared to the large piece of the remaining root ball. I had to dug under it to get it out. After paying him cash, he was supposed to be getting me a receipt and instead, he just drove away. He was gone less than 45 minutes after arriving. 10 minutes grinding. The rest of the time was unloading and and loading, including 5 minutes sitting in his truck when I thought he was writing a receipt. I believe he ditched me on the receipt because he was not going to report the income to Idaho for taxes or his work comp and liability insurance carrier quarterly or annual report. If a worker got hurt or there was damage to my property, would his Work Comp or liability insurance have covered that situation if he does not report all of his income and wages to his insurance companies? He advertises as Stump Removal Northwest INC. ID 8471848 Licensed/Insured. I just ran across photos of the work I had to do to finish getting the rest of the root ball out and the measurement of the stump slice and remembered how displeased I was so I am posting this very late.

"We do what we say"... that is the statement that Parker Tree Service decided to put on the side of…read moretheir trucks for the world to see. This should really be the most simple and basic strategy of ANY business. its really not a miraculous thing to say, and is definitely not something that should set you above your competitors. Basic business... do what you say you are going to do, and do it. In my experience Parker Tree Service's employee Chad apparently didn't get informed of the motto. I called Parker Tree Service on Sep. 17 to get a bid to prune up my trees. Chad showed up and we had a good conversation about my trees. I have nearly a decade of previous experience as a professional applicator. I know trees fairly well and felt Chad was in the know and i trusted him. He was in no hurry to move on and he was good at bullshitting, it was a great experience. Having said that, I can see why its hard for him/them to keep a schedule. when he was done at my place he went over to my neighbors house and talked to them for quite a while... really nice of him, but you see why it could be hard to do what you said to your other customer that is booked for the next appointment when Chad has no sense of time? On October 1 I sent Chad a text and asked him if he had a chance to get a bid worked up for me. He told me right then that he had it almost done and was going to be sending out bids the following day. Nothing.... So I patiently waited. October 17, I texted Chad. "Hey buddy just following up on that bid" READ notification showed up on his side..... no response. so I waited one hour and texted him again.... READ notification but no response, texted again... same thing. He was clearly not following the motto, and was ignoring me. So I called the office. the person that answered was friendly and seemed to be appalled about the situation. she said someone would call me about this. I am guessing it was a manager or owner maybe that called me. She had no concern about the situation. She told me that Chad had been sick a while ago, and was definitely not ignoring me. At the same time, or maybe a second before they sent me my bid. So the lady told me "Chad already sent your bid...I can see its sent right here." What a joke. I was looking for a local company who would "Do what they say" but Parker is definitely not the place! Local, yes... INTEGRITY....NO! I told Chad not to worry about it, his company thinks he is the bees knees and he has nothing to worry about. He is a really tree smart guy, but he just cant do what he says and nobody seems to give a shit. As a local business owner I cannot support this kind of lack of customer service.
