I am all for supporting local independant traders but I really struggle with shops like these…read more It's pretty small, and attempts to cover everything from garden tools equipment, accessories, home hardware, kitchen utensils etc. The probelm is that this shop does none of these rangers well - there is a little of everything but you just do not get a full range. or choice that you want. An example - I wanted to buy some strong weedkiller spray, something that mos tgardeners will use at some time of the year. Despite the name of the shop being 'Homes and Gardens' they just did not have anything in stock which remotely resembeld what I was looking for, so once again I had to go to the big DIY chain rather than putting money into the coffers of the local community. A lesson for independant retailers - focus your offering, and do this well - then people will shop with you.

The curtain factory has three sites within 500 metres from each other that specialise in different…read morecurtain products. The main big site is a maze of different rooms which hold different types of curtain upholstery, fabrics and essential accessories. The second smaller site holds clearance fabrics and the third smallest site holds ready made curtains. From curtain lining to different types of curtain rails, all your needs will be met! There is also, a sample room in the main site for fabrics that are not in stock and made to order! Prices are from £4 per metre which seems cheap, however, the total cost to make up your curtains may be pricey! Staff on-site are very helpful, welcoming and friendly. The factory is open from 9 till 6pm Monday to Saturday and Sunday 10 till 4pm. There is a small car park on-site and a waitrose right next door. Saddle down to curtain fabric, upholstery and accessories heaven!
