Most definitely a five star operation here. My family and I had no complaints about the job that…read morewas done today. First of all the crew arrived promptly at 8:00AM. We were initially given a window so we were delighted to be the first job of the day. There was a massive tree in our yard. So massive that neighbors finally became annoyed with the overhang of vines and weeds so it had to come down. The crew came prepared with all manner of tree cutting and disposal machinery and tools. The whole system involved several trucks that took up a good portion of the street. These guys were thorough and professional. Several cars had to be moved out of the way one of which was dead. No problem. They jumped it and moved it as well as another for a disabled neighbor and when the job was done they put the cars back in their original spaces. They cleaned constantly throughout the process. Living in a row home meant most of the trunk had to be carried out through the house. They handled that part just as well. Do read your contract, they spell out many specifics like how much of the trunk of our tree could be cut down because it had begun to grow into the fence. This should make clear your expectations. Highly recommended.

They were on par with everyone else, maybe a little cheaper, but their turn-around time and availability were better. They were also able to re-use some of my stone which brought the cost down a little. They had an entire retaining wall with new steps done in less than a week, and it looks great. When we wanted the walkway put in a year later, we went right back to them. They also honored another local company's offer to plant two memorial trees next to the walkway at no cost, which I very much appreciated. They will continue to be the first place I go to get quotes.

Careful with this business...I spent $2400 on a small landscape project. Let me start by saying I…read moreneeded assistance with this type of project because I don't know very much about landscaping. I worked with Danielle who was great (only reason for 2 stars). The project consisted of 4 Rhododendron and 5 or 6 Cherry Laurel. Well one of the Rhododendron died and the Cherry Laure were infested with some type of white flying insects to the point of destruction. I called with the hope of resolving the situation and they were very responsive. Danielle acknowledged that the Cherry Laurels are prone to these white flies (maybe would have liked to have known that the first time) and suggested replacing with 2 Viburnum and 4 Cat Mint. Then I find out this replacement project will cost $1350 with no cost to replace the dead Rhododendron. At first I thought the total replacement price was going to be $675 which I thought was reasonable...but that was just the 50% down payment. I was going to back out of the project but did not want to deal with the insect infestation so I reluctantly moved forward. They completed the project and it looks kind of pathetic. They did not remove any weeds that were under the Laurels and they did not re-mulch the area. The plantings are sparse and very underwhelming. I could have done better myself. So after spending $3750 with the company, my suggestion is...do it yourself or shop around.

I have been using Dooley for 8-10 years for both Spring and fall clean up services (weeding, mulch…read morebed clean-up, fresh mulch application in the Spring and leaf removal in the Fall). They do a phenomenal job -- my property always looks great afterward. In addition to the quality of the actual work, I have also found it easy to communicate and work with those in the scheduling department as well as management. Whenever I email them, I routinely get a response in 24 hours (and often times within the same day). And on the day of the work, someone in a supervisory/management role will typically be on hand to make sure everyone is on the same page before the work gets started (especially if I have a specific request or if something has changed from the previous season). It's things like that that will make me continue to use/work with Dooley in the future.

When questioned their "customer service" told me three times to check the terms and conditions. Apparantly they thought our grass was too high and charged us double. Never saying anything to us right before the cut. We went with this company be we wanted to support small/local business and received the lowest level of customer support and underhanded pricing policies than we've ever received. In addition, there prices are MUCH higher than others. Hope this review helps others. In response to your comment: you've honored my request to discontinue service??? Hahaha. Thank you so much for agreeing to be fired. You DID NOT honor my request for a credit since we were never told about a double charge. You DID NOT honor my request to have the owner contact me. And you missed the point- it wasn't the timing of the charge it was the fact that your mowers came out, spoke to my husband, agreed there was nothing out of the normal- didn't mention they thought the grass was long - and then went ahead and charged me double. I hope everyone can see what a disreputable company you are.
