I used to do all my own vehicle work, but since I've gotten older, it's become hard on my body so, unless it's something pretty low impact I have it done by pros. I've had repairs done there on more than one vehicle. They've always done a good job, albeit a little expensive, but all shops are now days. They went to bat for me on a ford I had that failed after a major repair when they found that the replacement part they installed had a factory defect. They got the manufacturer to cover the repair cost and saved me thousands. How many shops would do that. read more

I have been sitting on writing this review for awhile now. I was waiting on some of my anger to subside but nope, it is still present. This shop is a rip off, pure and simple. We took my husband's 2012 Ford F-150 (106K miles) to them in 2023 to having the timing chain replaced. 3700.00 later, we left. My husband drives this truck very little, only to work and occasionally to the deer lease, we put less than 15k miles on since picking the truck up. The most we have done since has been oil changes and changing the breaks and rotors. In September of this year, my husband was driving home from work and his low oil pressure light came on and truck began to stall. He was able to safely get to the side of the road and turn the truck off. We had it towed to our house where, lo and behold, the timing chain was broken, again. I know very little about vehicles but timing chains generally last around 75-100k miles. Again, we put less than 15k miles on the truck in almost 3 years. I immediately called Monroe's because surely there is a warranty? Wouldn't you guess, no warranty, because we "brought in our own parts" or so they said. I have searched high and low looking for receipts or proof that we supplied our own parts, and that cannot be found anywhere. And when I asked Monroe's for documented proof, "o we don't have that, but we remember that you supplied those." Now you see, this is where the review is going to get fun, so grab your popcorn and enjoy the ride! We have a mechanic come out and look at the truck (not from Monroe's, mind you. I would rather rip my arm off and beat myself with the bloody end of it than ever allow them to touch my property again). His response when he starts looking and taking things apart? "I hope you have a good attorney." The following list is all of the things that were done wrong by Monroe's, leading to the breaking of the timing chain, which according to their moron of a manager "it is a common issue with Fords to have the timing chains break so easily", yeah okay, how many timing chains have you changed in your life princess? Or are you just too busy wearing sleezy cop costumes to post pictures on your business FB page? Not only was the timing chain snapped clean, at the highest point and on the main link due to a bolt that was not fully tightened and our mechanic could turn it with his hand, but we had several bolts missing (they must eat them for snacks because according to the reviews this is a common thing for them!), but we also had slipping in the tensioner, ill fitting bolts and o rings, stripped bolts, improper fittings on the temperature gauge and radiator where coolant was not circulating and was instead living in the reservoir, a non attached bracket for the valve covers, a loose bolt that was chilling on the bottom of the oil pan that had been just bebopping all over the engine. But my PERSONAL FAVORITE was the fuel pump that had not been set and sealed correctly and the gas that was all over the engine of my husband's truck. I think our mechanic used the phrases "worst fuel leak I have ever seen in my life" and "it is an absolute miracle that there was not an engine fire." Now, the piece de resistance, after spending 3700.00 at Monroe's for the crap work that they did, we now have to pay $6k for a brand new engine! That's right, a truck that had only 120K miles on it now has to have a brand new engine because of Monroe's. That is not including the money we have already paid our for diagnostics and engine removal, plus the amount we will have to pay for installation. And don't you fear, I have pictures and videos of the crap they pulled. You have not heard the last of my name. read more

I went here because a different place told me my compressor was bad and needed fixing and they said that's why my air conditioning was out and they couldn't fix it and were real shady. Monroe's diagnosed it and that wasn't the case, it was the thermostat and the sensor in my 2020 Colorado. They fixed everything for a reasonable cost and my truck a/c is running great again. A/C went out in my truck and I was hoping that I just needed to add freon but once I tested the system pressure for myself I knew I had bigger problems, dammit!!! I took it in and had them look it over and they came back with the answer I was expecting, my compressor was shot but I had no leaks in the system. Well since i can't change the compressor out myself what was I gonna do? Drive around in the Louisiana heat without A/C? Hell no!!! So I set it up for these folks to do that repair and they did a fine job. Wish I could have got my truck back the same day but they had it back to by noon the next day and it's blowing ice cold air now and makes this Louisiana summer heat bearable. Plus I have a lifetime warranty on the replacement A/C system parts and a 2 year warranty on the labor. Pretty happy with that. Pricing for the work was comparable with other shops in the Bossier/Shreveport area so all in all I will use this garage again in the future should I need automotive repairs. read more

Bought a new engine and had Monroe's install it. Went all of 20 k. Thank God I paid an extra 700 for a no questions asked 5 year warranty. I think it was Monroe's fault that it failed. Also several other items I've had done failed repeatedly. When I first started going there the owner took great care of us. I think the word got out that they were good and they stay backed up. Well, occasionally you meet people who restore your faith in the human race!!!! That was my experience upon meeting the owner of Monroe's garage. I am a full time RVer and was passing through his town for the night. My F350 truck started spewing white smoke and on the phone he told me to come right down. I arrived, met him ( a super cool dude) and he spent 20 minuets immediately diagnosing the issue and recommended a game plan. His shop could not get the work done because it was the wkend, so he had his assistant get on the phone with my warranty company to make sure they covered the problem, he spoke to them personally to be sure and then assured me that I would make my destination; gave me things to check for along the way and WOULDN'T even charge me!!!!!!! He even gave me a gallon of oil just in case and I had to insist on paying for that!!! Wow, wow, wow is all I can say AND Thank you!!! read more

Had a fuel pump replaced 3 times this year at monroes..they said it was because the car was being driven low on gas and they wouldn't warranty their work or parts any longer. Took it down to Ashley Automotive and they diagnosed a bad fuel sensor as the culprit!..Never again..be wary of this shop read more

My car wouldn't start on Saturday and I had it towed to Monroe's on Sunday. They were closed till Monday morning. When I went to call them Monday morning, there was a message from them. They'd already figured out what was wrong and had priced the parts and labor for me. It turns out there was another (unrelated) problem, which they called me about and had a price for me when they called. By the time I got there right after 3:00, they'd had both problems fixed for an hour already, and for about what I had expected to pay for just the starter. This place is clearly not run the way other repair shops are. I was expecting to wait days and pay a lot more. I'm not used to a car problem being so easy to deal with or so quickly done. Took my daughters car in this am because the wheel was shaking. The very friendly tech took for a short ride and looked at it. He found the lug nuts to be loose. He tightened them and it took about 20 minutes. Were we charged $63.10. Really? This was a bit much to pay especially for a military family. The discount was like $1.11.
