The service is fraudulent. I received this in the mail not too long ago, didn't believe it. Upon calling their number, the caller ID presented themselves as Barton Memorial Hospital. Their number was a (949) Irvine number, yet Barton Memorial Hospital was located in South Lake Tahoe. Furthermore the actual number for Barton Memorial Hospital was different. Sounds fishy, did not pursue further. If you check their website, they say they are HIPPA compliant. HIPAA stands for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, anyone working with the medical field would be aware of this act and how to spell it. read more

My physician is in-network. The doctor's office and my insurance company have both agreed that the doctor is in-network. The doctor apparently has more than one tax ID. Someone at Monox Billing Service used the wrong tax ID when submitting claims for my doctor's services. They used a tax ID that caused my claims to be submitted as if the doctor were out-of-network. It would seem that it would be an easy task to withdraw the claims that were submitted with the doctor's out-of-network tax ID and resubmit them with the doctor's in-network tax ID. The person at Monox Billing Service who submitted my claims to my insurance company does not appear to know how to do this. Rather than correct their errors, Monox has sent me a bill for more than 70% of the full retail value of the charges incurred thus far. read more

This billing service sent their second statement one month after the first. A payment was sent in response to the first, which apparently was not received or has been lost. OK, it happens. The second statement, just received, has a fake pre-collection notice attached, claiming that: "we dislike reminding you yet again about the delinquent status of your account, but despite our last few reminders, your account remains unpaid". This is a complete fabrication, an underhand attempt to apply pressure ( or, less likely, they sent out the wrong letter). I am very familiar with how medical billing works, and this is clearly a third-rate, low budget company. No return envelopes enclosed, each statement shows a different return address, not answering the phones on repeated attempts. read more

Called to find out why my bill was not paid. Got a lady who could not SPEAK ENGLISH well enough to do her job. So I had to spell out EVERYTHING to her. But the worst part was that I should not have had to telephone them in the first place. They should have billed the insurance company correctly in the first place. When I asked them why I was getting stuck with an outrageous bill because they failed to do their job correctly they said "We sent the bill in twice and they haven't paid it yet. Great, so I am supposed to do your job for you? I think not. Do your job PROPERLY and get it billed PROPERLY. Then I will not have to sue your company for fraud. Do not use this company. read more

I've never dealt with a worse billing service. Had a procedure in September 2018. Got a bill from this place in September 2019. A year later. They had billed my insurance, who denied it due to being unnecessary and said I had $0 responsibility. I call the office. They say that I allegedly signed a financial waiver agreeing to pay $250 even if my insurance denied. I said I don't think so but give me the signed waiver and if I did sign something, then I would pay. No waiver. After a year of phone calls and them contacting my dr office for the waiver, still no waiver. I said ok no waiver and my insurance denied then this is not my responsibility to pay. They agree that the balance will be written off. 4 days later I get a phone call from a collection agency. Now I have to deal with this. They are complete morons. They have no idea how insurance billing works. This is insurance fraud. Billing an insurance and then billing the patient afterward even tho the insurance says patient has $0 responsibility? ILLEGAL. they need to get it together. I plan on contacting the insurance board of California, BBB and potentially the attorney general. This company has to be dealt with! read more

I would give them zero stars if I could, especially after reading the other 5 reviews. This company must absolutely be stopped. It is INSURANCE FRAUD. They are knowingly going after patients that in some cases do not even know the association their bill has to any procedure. In my case, they came after me a year and 1/2 after a colonoscopy. Dr. was out of network, so I paid in full before the procedure. Dr., anesthesia and facility. The anesthesiologist refused payment from the doctor and decided to 'risk' it and try my Cigna insurance anyway. Even appealed their decision...twice! All without me knowing. Then I get a bill 5 months into the pandemic for $2100. I call. She lowers it to $700 stating some bs around insurance reduction. When I then ask how if they don't cover it, she comes back with they are willing to 'discount' it to $500. Seeming like a total scam , I went nuts...called the Dr. who performed the procedure and their office was mortified and dealt with it. Report this to the board if you have any experience similar. To avoid use this doctor, Dr. Nandli,ar Damdelar. MD - we had no IDEA he was out of network and huge large co-pay ever and this billing service, Monox Billing Services that Doctor chose is the worst billing service, they only gave us two options, to pay full $3K or pay $250 per month, it has to be pay every month or they send to collection agency to ruin credit. The most disrespectful and rude customer service representatives I have ever dealt with. Heriberto, Arlene, and Debbie should be fired as they are horrible representation of your business. Argued with customer over authenticity of Bill in,question and did not want to help pursue necessary information to get to bottom of Bill. They all are managers of something , but fail to manage themselves. Debbie left me on speaker phone and wouldn't allow me,to explain My inquiries. Cut me off multiple times and wrote off anything I had to say or ask. When I explained to her that I was not happy with how I was being treated as a customer and that the way she was treating me was innapropriate . she laughed and said how would you do it? Debbie manager of managers , Arlene manager of telephones , and Heriberto manager of accounts. Their titles according to Debbie the "manager of managers". Apparently no customer service or relations manager , because none of them have any. When you cuss at me I cuss back , when you hang up , I write your boss. I didn't force you to be a desk jockey, you chose it. Im sorry you don't enjoy your desk job in Irvine California. That's not my fault . I was just teying,to figure out why I was sending your 600 . now I'm not sending you anything . I spoke,to doctor personally after you stated he couldn't be contacted . he said he told you to take insurance money on my Bill and write off remaining balance since he got more from,my insurance than most insurance.
