My excitment was dimmed a little though when I found out that the wifi was not that reliable, my email would be working fine but trying to load facebook or just a browser seemed to ellicit error messages or would be extremely slow. Nevertheless I got through emails which was enough with the odd window of reliable wifi providing me access to facebook and Yelp. And the free wifi is a huge reason I give this location 3 stars (more like 3.5) because nothing in the mall really makes it stand out, hardly anyone was fluent in English (except for one barista at the Starbucks). Even the woman at the information counter could not converse in English when I tried to figure out where to get a sim for my phone. Speaking of which, a minor moment I'm proud is how I managed to get myself a prepaid plan for a week with an attendant that did not speak English well, but he was very friendly despite that being the last day he was working there before moving to Paris (yes we even managed to have small talk, because he was glad to try his English out). The mall is great option for a quick snack, I would not recommend eating at any of the restaurants in here (I might even go as far as to say that the McDonalds here would be the best food option) but I did see a sushi stand that looked like it could be all right. They don't see a lot of tourists in this area so I can't blame them for not being well equipped with a blundering tourists like myself managing to blend in, but the mall is at a very convenient location, not more than a 5 minute walk from the metro station and it seems to have any store that one would need for their daily life and it's clean, pretty and a nice place to come in for an escape from the elements especially thanks to their wifi.

There are lots of little shops for kitchen ware and home decor, a huge place called Truffault for arts/crafts/gardening supplies/plants/pets/decor and several really nice little shops for chocolates and cookies. The hidden gem here is a large grocery store with beautiful local produce, staples, and chocolates for the holidays at very reasonable prices. Instead of 2 euros for one apple, you can get a whole 5 pound bag for 2.49 E. That was fun! If you drive, there is a 2hr free space under the building. If you come by train, take the RER B to the LaPlace stop, its a short walk up the street from it. The station is clean, with friendly staff. No weirdos hanging out there. This is actually a very nice and quiet area just out of the hustle and bustle of Paris!

Almost every designer you can think of is here, making this a must-see and a must-shop when visiting Paris. And it doesn't stop inside Galeries Lafayette--the entire surrounding area has stores for days! Lights, glitz, glamour, luxury, and fashion everywhere you turn. It reminded me of an upscale New York City 42nd Street, but with that beautiful Parisian elegance. Even if you're not planning to shop, go for the experience. There's so much to see, you could spend hours just walking around and taking it all in. Definitely one of my Paris must-visits!

While malls die all over America, retail still thrives in Paris. Exhibit A: Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. I've been to this department store a number of times over the years, and I both enjoy it and fear how completely it can suck up precious vacation hours. It's a fantastic place to shop, with a ton of well curated inventory spread out across multiple floors in multiple buildings. The main building features that beautiful domed ceiling, which manages to catch me by surprise every time I walk in. I haven't had the opportunity to shop for my own clothes here in a long time, but I've gotten some really great stuff on the children's floor, and discovered the souvenir section on my last visit, where I picked up some cool Paris Metro toy trains and magnets. We did somehow get stuck at Galeries Lafayette for over two hours and ended up skipping Notre-Dame, which might have been a better place to spend our last afternoon in Paris. But it was sale season, and my kids look super cute in their heavily discounted Petit Bateau. Galeries Lafayette is busy and sometimes overwhelming, but it's a wonderful department store. I wish we had something like it back home. I'd much rather shop there than fall for targeted ads on Instagram.

The iron-and-glass atrium is beautiful, the scale feels wonderfully manageable, and the selection of fashion, design, and home brands carries a point of view that could only come from Paris. Harrods occasionally comes to mind as a comparison, although the resemblance ends quickly: Le Bon Marché is quieter, smaller, and far more Left Bank in its sensibility. Upstairs and throughout the store, browsing is genuinely fun, and I still remember visiting when there was a Williamsburg, Brooklyn-themed activation that offered an unexpectedly charming French interpretation of the neighborhood and its culture. La Grande Épicerie, however, may be the masterpiece: an astonishing food hall where the presentation, abundance, and sheer discernment make grocery shopping feel almost museum-worthy. At a moment when e-commerce has hollowed out so many great department stores, Le Bon Marché feels increasingly special, proof that physical retail can still justify the trip simply through taste, atmosphere, and discovery. The Beaugrenelle is a really nice building, fairly close to my hotel and the Tour Eiffel, which…read morebasically is a high end shopping mall, with a large number of designer brands yet still outlets such as Hagen-Dans, Nike and Adidas seem here. The staff around the mall seem nice, it is quite a nice building in both parts, with there being a bridge to connect the two malls, which are located on the opposite side of the streets. Shops here also include a small high-street of shops, which is part of the mall but with only enterences from the street, this includes an Orange store which is recently closed for a refurb, a very poor branch of Mcdonald's and a fairly nice Pandora store. Due to high security alerts, there is a lot of security on here, near enough one in every shop including Marks and Spencer, and you will be seared when you go in, while someone will look in your bag and mainly use a detector, but considering the recent events in Paris which are devastating, you can understand why and it is putting people's safety first, and I don't have a problem with that. The lifts are also pretty cool, on the left hand of the mall, playing music as you ride in the lifts, however on the right side sadly they are not, with few lifts seeming to be very small and move very slow, meaning if you actually need it with a pram or wheelchair it can be hard and frustrating and take ages just to go up a level, I know how painful this is, I've even been stuck in a lift before having only needed to get up 4 steps, and was there for an hour, which is a similar, albeit more extreme example. Beaugrenelle might be a small building, but they do have some really nice places inside, including a Monoprix which was opened today and is classed as part of the mall, despite not being directly in it, which is quite a nice supermarket/department-store which also has a cool looking Starbucks Coffee inside. There even is a cinema here, making it the perfect place to spend an hour or two, and even admire the building, as it is a really nice place, both of them are and it even contains one of 14 Marks and Spencer store's in France, which is a total dwarfed by 852 stores in the United Kingdom. They have free-wifi as well with no sign-up required other than accepting the terms and conditions, which is good and still easy to do if you have no knowledge of speaking french, Overall, this is a really nice mall and I count myself lucky infact to have it so close to my hotel, as it is so easy to pick up essentials with many large stores, including Monoprix who have a self-juicing orange machine and Marks and Spencer who have a great gluten free range and even english labeling, so I'm pleased to give this mall a solid 4 star rating!

This is such a cute little shopping park! We found it by accident bc we had to ride the metro here…read moreto catch our small bus for our day trip to Fontainebleau and Vaux-Le-Vicomte, otherwise, we'd never have ventured this far. When we returned in the evening, it was bustling with people shopping and eating and sitting outside on the patios enjoying drinks and desserts. Several stores selling jewelry, women's clothing, fragrance, electronics and clothes and other gifts were open as well as a ton of restaurants and cafes of all kinds. It's an easy metro ride so I highly recommend it. We already had dinner plans so we only spent about an hour walking around and browsing but we might come back for dinner and explore more next time we are in town.
