I attended a party recently where this DJ was performing. I never even thought of doing a critique of DJs, at the rare festivities I've attended over the years, because most play all the recent pop hits that annoy me. This DJ mixed it up well, not just playing the noted pop (and intermittent rap), but old school (classic) rock (which is my preference); so I wasn't hating the whole time. A DJ needs to feel and know their crowd. When one is playing music that gets folks out on the dance floor (in this case being classic rock) they need to stick with it a little longer before completing switching gears. This DJ did just that. I get it, there are those that like that latest music too and you need to fulfill their needs. The change ups of music styles did not annoy me so much, as other DJs have done to me in the past. If you desire to have a DJ at your function you better have a detailed discussion with them about your expectations, before and during. This DJ appeared well versed in many genres, including a little country as I recall. If he travels to your neck of the woods give him an interview and determine if he would meet those expectations. And he definitely did. DJ Allen was always available and easily reachable via email if we had any questions. Nicole from Dancing DJ Productions also worked with us to get proper uplighting for our reception and all the prices were affordable and well worth it! Just to note, we added these uplights kind of last minute and they still happily accommodated us. DJ Allen met with us a week prior to the event and he would go over every little detail on the wedding timeline to make sure everything was accounted for. I often had questions that would spontaneously come up and he patiently answered all of them. I seriously have nothing else but good things to say about DJ Allen! Dancing DJ allowed us to customize playlists and request songs through their online portal, which was easy to navigate. If the songs are not searchable through their portal, you have the option to add your own songs. Since our wedding involved some Mandarin songs, Japanese songs, and K-Pop, we really wanted to make sure these were played during the wedding. DJ Allen made it happen. What's even better was that he always triple checked with us with YouTube links that he had the right version because some tracks were remixed or instrumentals. I really love the attention to detail. HUGE PROPs to DJ Allen for playing the Maplestory MMORPG Opening Theme during dinner; our guests LOVED IT!!!!! Lastly, the requested grand entrance songs were all played exactly where our wedding party wanted in terms of timestamps. DJ Allen was also able to take song requests on the spot from any person and played them accordingly. Not only that, the wedding dance floor was never empty and everyone was having so much fun!! It was too much fun that my guests shouted for more songs even after the last song was played and the venue had quiet hours.
