I have had too many facials to count in so many locations, some quite expensive and some in chains like Elizabeth Grady and or Catherine Hinds. I have to admit, Adina is the best. She is a perfectionist. I HATE going to a salon where I am going to get someone who is inexperienced, who puts cream on my face, rubs it to soft music, and essentially I go home. Adina uses a meticulous process. I have tricky skin because I am older, yet I still break out. Thought it would be nice to do something for myself. So I booked it online. Got a weird call from somebody confirming. I did book it online then gave me the address in the information. It's in an office park in Bedford kind of a really weird location. You would never know it was there unless they told you. When you walk in, it's really pretty inside very soothing very dark and just serene. But really empty. I don't know if it was because of the weather today or what, but I proceeded to continue on. There was one lady who is coming out of their talking about some products that she had used and that she was coming back and blah blah blah. She's probably in her late 60s maybe early 70s. And she had a big bag of product with her. I've then got introduced to a woman who had very very white blonde hair and a very thick accent I don't remember what her name was but it begin with an M. She told me that one of the aestheticians called in sick that day so she was going to be handling my facial and she was also I believe she said the owner of the place. OK. Sounds good to me She has me going into this room, which looks like it's a picture of your face type of machine. Looked kind of expensive but little odd. I've never seen one of those before honestly and all the facials I've ever had. She has me stick my face in it with my eyes closed and takes a bunch of pictures. Then proceeds to show me all the things wrong with my face. It's actually kind of surprised I've never seen that before but maybe it's a new thing that people use. But whatever. She reinforces the fact that I clearly have a bad case of rosacea, etc., etc. I get led into a small room, which is nice and warm comfy blankets on the massage bed that they use for aesthetician wear etc. etc. and a couch. And her personal stuff on the couch just kind of drew across it little odd. But I also put my coat and bag on that sofa, and she proceeded to tell me to undressed from the waist up and put on this towel and then lie down face up on the table which I did. Then, once I'm on the table, she proceeds to tell me about how all the work she is doing for me is going to be based on the fact that I have such bad rosacea, which, I don't have bad rosacea but it's not fabulous, but that's not what I came for. I came for a different facial. A skin tightening facial with collagen. To help with my saggy skin. That's not what I had. I didn't realize that that's what she was doing until halfway through when she said she was only using products for rosacea. I had the obligatory steam put on my face. I'll have to be honest. It was a little too close to my face and really hot, and from other aestheticians, I've been told to never use that on my face if I had rosacea cause it could exacerbate the pain in the redness. But whatever. She was a little rough as well. Not complete strokes the face sponges she used to clean me off for a little rough and kinda hurt my skin. Again, I didn't say anything because I thought maybe this is the way it's supposed to go for this type of facial. I went through the whole facial. She's explaining products that she's using and how it will help my skin is so wonderfully and etc., etc. I did tell her before we went in there that I usually have to wait one or two days to see how my face reacts to new products sometimes, I break out, sometimes I get hives, sometimes it's just fine, but I usually have to wait one or two days. Paragraph I paid for it gave her her tip came home and realized that I still had product all over the side of my face that she never watched off. It wasn't like she was rushing, it's like she just wasn't taking that extra step. Kind of surprised honestly. If you've never had a facial before, I think this place was great. The ambience was great. The staff was very nice, but I've had several facials, and it would've been nice if she had told me she was switching the facial or did I want to switch the facial because he had to would've been no. I'm not sure I'm gonna go back. It is close though.
